Roach loves to play mental games. You'd have thought that the haters would have figured that out by now.

*******s are way too funny . I feel kind of bad laughing at them.

Seriously, they want to give Pac all the credit for beating DLH at 147, saying he was past prime, but still very game, yet they have every excuse in the book for giving Pac a pass for not fighting Cotto at 147.

    Bling Nut-Huggery at it's finest.:yep

There's no excuse, Roach made it clear that they're going and staying at 140 after DLH and if any want it they are open to consider a catchweight. Cotto is no DLH and he doesn't offer the attention/money a DLH fight does for them to move to 147.

No one is forcing Marquez to bulk his idea like they making Cotto lose weight.

Cotto would be cutting more water weight than normal.

    Draining himself further.

Marquez would be going up, but no one says he has to bulk his body up at all.

Maybe a couple lbs he will add, but he's not forced at all. He already weighs 141-144 on fight night. Mayweather state he was down to 146 already.

If you are mad at Pac for making Cotto come down why aren't you mad at Marquez for making fmj come down?

Also, why is the impetus on these smaller men to fight at the higher weights? Its not necessarily.

Its bad for Pac to fight above 140 where it is definitely a point of diminishing returns. He clearly is not going to be a dominant welterweight, 147 is clearly a weight above his best weight. Why is this ignored? Cotto clearly is drained at 140, and 145 may effect him, personally, I would rather see Pac vs 140 and Cotto / Mosley 2 or even Cotto / Clottey 2, or Mayweather vs any serious top welter but that is doubtful right now.

But since we are making this fight, its ridiculous to hate on Pac for making the fight at 145 or as low as he can get it. Cotto has beaten Mosley, Clottey, Quintana and Judah. These are dangerous welters, Pac is at a major disadvantage in his size / stength vs Cotto, who is in his prime and pretty quick himself.

Its absurd to hate on Pac, who has had a total of ten rounds above 135 and what? eighteen or so above 130 and only 3 fights, to try and gain some equality here, Cotto is going to come into this fight heavier than Pac, and personally, at this point I see this fight as extremely dangerous for Pac, far more so than Ricky Hatton.

Greatness is proven which PAC has done. But regarding the Catch weight....Roach is looking out for his fighter. To make the fight with DLH it was purely based on the opportunity to face the BIGGEST name in boxing. The financial reward, legacy and status rewards were well worth the unkown risk of taking on the far larger man and seemingly impossible feat by most experts. Great fighters take great risks and in order for the fight to be made DLH said it would have to be at 147 considering PAC would be jumping up 2 weight divisions.

PAC immediately went to 140 where he is now king. He only took the fight at 147 with DLH as a great opportunity although highly risky. Even in the DLH fight PAC weighed in around the 140 limit, not the 147 limit where the fight was held. Cotto is at 147 but he CHALLENGED Pac who is a jr WW not a WW. So its a reasonable option for PAC to fight at 145, having to gain some extra weight and Cotto having to loose a pound or two in order to make this fight reality. I'm sure PAC would fight at 147 but his team is there to work in his interest....just as Cotto's team works in his. Looking at PAC as the smaller man with the BIG name, Cotto is now in position to capitolize on the rewards of Facing the top dog in boxing should he win.

    I just find it funny.

Mayweather weighs 147-149 like Pac on fight night.

But if Mayweather pulled this ****.

This board would be freaking out.
