Say he goes in there stands toe to to with Clottey, walks through his best shots and knocks him out in the early to mid rounds... what would your first thought be?

Would it be "unsubstantiated" to suspect him of ped use after such a performance?

Is it unsubstantiated to think a man with one ball can win the Tour De France 6 times in a row? If the answer to this is a yes, then your answer to the original question is likely the same.

    Speed kills.

I think this is more of a case of careful cherry-picking than it is PED use. They know their man: Clottey is a come forward type of fighter. Manny eats guys like that for lunch.

Wait a minute! That's not fair! Lance Armstrong actually took the tests and cleared his name.

Talk all your ******* bull**** you want. I have been consistent the entire time: Clottey is going to get worked.

Yes, it is an excellent cherry pick. On paper, Clottey looks like a dangerous opponent. In reality, he is tailor made for a fighter like Pacquiao. I have said this from the beginning since this fight was signed.

I will gladly eat crow if that fight is even remotely competitive tomorrow. :deal Clottey does not win more than 3-4 rounds, if he even finishes the fight.

It probably isn't, nor is it of my belief. It's the only way I really knew how to address the question.

If Pac steamrolls Clottey by going right after to just break him down. It would be insane... a little crazy (Not fighting his fight and just bullying the bigger man).

But any accusations would still be as unsubstantiated as you could get.

Let's not miss the fine print here. A big part of the reason Pacquiao has successfully damaged his last series of opponents is because of his clinical precision, timing, and uncanny placement of punches. If he busts up Clottey it will be because he's doing what he's been doing. Checking chins.

But the OP is just saying if he walks him down... as if he's Mike Tyson or something. And that's not just how Pac has been doing it.

The OP is more or less saying if Pac wins in say this way... because most likely Pac is going to bust Clottey up.

Surely. I was actually going to say "he won't," but that's just a little bit boring. The "fine print" thing was a sidebar. Virtually.

Cotto was hyped up as well. The guy was good, but hardly the monster people made him out to be.

I picked Pacquiao to KO Cotto as well btw, and Hatton for that matter.

These guys are all easy to hit. The last time Manny fought a guy that could give him trouble was JMM. :deal

Clottey is another guy with little lateral movement, foot speed, and has a problem with pivoting when he is defending. Clottey also has a tendency to cover up too much and not throw back/counter.

Don't get it twisted, I am a Pacquiao fan and have been watching him a long time. I can even switch my avatar to a picture of me and the Roach. Clottey is no match for a fighter of his calibur, sorry. Pacquiao needs to fight Mayweather.

Listen to Roach, he is saying exactly what I am saying right now. Clottey is going to get pummeled by a variety of punches from all kinds of angles. He does not have the lateral movement/footspeed to handle it. Clottey comes forward and does not offer a lot in terms of pivoting/angles.

If you try to bang with Clottey he can be dangerous. If you use position, angles, and come in and out.. it takes away his strengths and highlights his limitations.

Since you brought up Floyd: I think he would pot shot Clottey all night to a UD. Boring fight, and not worth it. Mayweather needs to fight Pacquiao, not Clottey. Yes, I would not consider Clottey a particularly dangerous fight for Mayweather either. Same thing: looks good on paper, but good cherry pick.

cotto was not hyped-up. he got the peoples respect for fighting the toughest opponent the weight could offer. it doesn't matter if he lose to pac. pac is on the zone right now and not many people would beat him at this time.

i can see your points but it is just because clottey will fight a better opponent and not because clottey is ****. clottey is not a top5 welterweight for nothing and if floyd and pac would not get it on, a fight between the top players of the weight is not a cherry-pick. i could say that mosley is old and inactive now but is it right to say that floyd picked the right time to fight him?

No it is not right for you to say that, considering floyd wanted to fight shane when he was underfeated.
