If Pac KO's DLH, would he be ranked higher than Mayweather if FMJ is still active?

A KO win against a bigger DLH by Pac is more significant than the split decision win of FMJ against the same opponent - that is just the premise of this argument.

I recall that some posters here stated that the only way Pac becomes P4P number 1 is if FMJ losses. However, I do not see that point in the second half of his career as he became choosy as to who he fights - mainly against fighters that had no hail mary's chance of winning at all. Assuming that FMJ is not retired and Pac wins (assumption only) by KO against DLH, would you rank Pac as number 1 based on performance of a common opponent?

Yes. A KO win would be pretty astonishing.

It would be Pacs last few years of work vs Floyds and names like MAB, Morales, JMM and a KO over the much larger De La Hoya would give Pac the edge.

Yes...although one might argue that FMJ has fought more people at higher divisions than Pac so...we'll see what happens

If Pac KO's Delahoya he is the most accomplished fighter of this generation, RJJ is still the greatest IMHO but Pac would definitely be more accomplished than any other fighter.

Pac isn't winning by KO so just stop it. Only a fool or nuthugger would think Pac has a chance of stopping Oscar, who has been stopped only once in his career by a bigger man in Hopkins.:deal

Manny was only ranked #1 because PBF retired. Manny gets beat by PBF at any weight. A blind man can see who's the better fighter.:deal

He should certainly be given a lot of credit if he does, the chances of that happening are extremely small, lets say very very small.
