I rate these guys how I see them, Pac is amazing, Hatton is very very good. I'll view them both the same after the fight regardless of outcome.

Hatton used to do it a lot pre-Tszyu...... in that fight countering was pointless because he would have been in a hospital bed by then so had to change tactics..... and ever since, barring the Malignaggi fight he has generally reverted to those methods.

Best examples recently other than this......

    1st 4 rounds vs Urango
    Phillips, Tackie & Magee fights

if pac loses i won't consider him overrated.. i would prefer saying he lost to a true 140lber who is bigger and can keep up with his pace, and has a stylistic advatage over pac

    It is an intriguing thing....

A lot of people consider Hatton a slugger of sorts, but actually he doesn't hit that hard really...... more prone to overwhelming opponents with his strength.

I was at a show in Manchester three weeks ago and he walked past me.... I am the same height and of a similar (perhaps slightly broader) build and am just under 12st. He looked about 11st to me and was huge.

Before actually seeing him in the flesh I had said he could make lightweight because he makes 140 easily despite piling on 40lbs...... no chance!

Rendall Munroe is massive as well for a 122lb'er, 5'7'' and not exactly stick thin.

Good stuff, B-Brawler. I've seen Pacquiao on a few occassions, most recently the day he after he got back from London in LA, and his head looks to be at least 40 or 50 lbs of solid mass. He truly has one of the largest craniums I have ever seen. Hatton has himself a fine target.

Also, Hatton obviously does a tremendous amount of leading regardless of course.. No doubt because he has the patience of a crabby toddler. If they won't throw he will, and he hasn't got all day.

If Pac loses, even if he's stopped, it doesn't make him overrated. Hatton's a very good fighter too and he's the bigger man, there's no disgrace in a smaller boxer losing to a big strong welterweight (which he is, no matter what the scales say the day before)

I would agree...... patience is the key.

To be honest I cannot remember the last time he looked good against a southpaw, but on the flipside the ones he has fought have generally been cagey operators that have taken the sting out of his lead left hook. Pacquiao won't do that because he will look to trade in the centre of the ring IMO........ for him the key is the right hand, not the left. Hatton has never really been vulnerable to a straight punch, but lead right hooks from a southpaw (see Collazo, Magee) have proved troublesome..... putting him on his ass once and nearly seen him stopped on another occasion.

Nobody is overrating anybody. Pac is the best in the world right now and losing to Hatton does not make him less of a fighter.

you guys don't understand much really. If you think Pacqiuao is good enough to overcome the size disadvantage against Hatton and pull out the victory but it turns out that he isn't, then you either overrated Pacquiao, underrated Hatton, or likely its both.

    This is not even debateable

Also i didn't say that I would admit Pac was overrated. I will admit that I overrated him. Those are 2 different things.

Sure, it depends how much you rate him to begin with, but generally, if you think he's the best fighter in the world, you wouldn't overrate him if you still have him as the best in the world, if he loses to Ricky whilst giving a very good performance.

Co-sign totally agree. I almost see this fight as a mismatch and see Hatton getting slaughtered. If Hatton wins, i'll be the next first to admit i overrated pac and seriously underrated Hatton.
