Why would you say that you "overrated" Pac?:huh Unless you think PAC is the 2nd comming of a Duran or a Ray Robinson. If Pac looses he lost to a very good champion who is a natural 140 lbs fighter. And that would mean PAC's best is not at WW or Jr WW. If PAC wins it's a very good win and his best yet. And I'd give him full credit. But it is what it is.....just like when Nard beat Tito and DLH....ALL were ELITE! Top level guys but Nard was the bigger man....I don't think the losses on Tito or DLH's record to Nard was looked at as a terrible loss nor do I think anyone thought they were "overrated". Even though Nard is on anther level than Ricky.....you have to take in to consideration PAC is not the bigger man. However...PAC by TKO late!

if pac losses to hatton, then, it is safe to assume that dela hoya would get beaten by any top 10 140 pounder making the pac's victory less significant and his run would end at 135

Most of you people are responding without thinking. If you expect a fighter to beat someone pretty soundly, and they can't, you are overrating their abilities, its pretty simple. Just because its a natural 130/135 pounder fighting at 140 pounds doesn't mean anything, it just means you rated him so highly in the first place to have him a hard favourite.

It doesn't mean you are saying they are very overrated, or they aren't an awesome fighter (If Pac loses to Hatton its still clear Pac is a superior fighter in terms of P4P ability), he is just saying that he personally will have overrated his ability somewhat.

    Pretty simple really.

He does think that to some degree. Thats why he would say he overrated him, as he thought so highly of him in the first place, a little too highly (in the case of a Hatton win).

I think some of us are lookin' at this the wrong way...

If Pac loses to Hatton it by no means implies that Pac was overrated, but that Hatton has developed and learned well from a loss, coupled with the fact he's spent what would be 2 fights at that point with a world-class trainer.

Even if Hatton loses to Pac but takes him to the cards, I will without reservation consider Hatton well in his prime.

****, Pac just mopped the mat with the ass of a future Hall of Famer that's competed and won titles @ Jr. Middle/took Mayweather to a close split decision.

In sports winning is everything, especially in boxing where a loss can have such negative consequences.

I suggest you rethink that statement!:think

Why? If you are quick pull someones card for losing one fight against an opponent of the same calibur.

The negative consequences in this particular fight would be quite minimal though if at all.

Consider, you have who's widely known as the #1 P4P goin' up against a top-level JWW who's only loss is to the former #1 P4P and is only the former due to his retirement.

How would a loss by either fighter here serve to harm their legacies?

Pac hasn't lost since the Morales fight in March 05 and Hatton lost to Mayweather but has won again since then.

A very early and brutal KO is the only way I could see either fighter's legacy bein' harmed in the least...and even then I'm reluctant to join in the judging.

Well if it was that easy, how come Hatton never got beat in that division?

I see you as underrating Hatton with that statement. He is the top guy of the division and Pac is again entering a new territory. This wont be as easy as most people think.

Of course its debatable:lol: What are you saying anyone who picks a fighter over another has automatically overrated that fighter?

How bout Pac was dominating the fight and was caught by a "kidney shot"?

Just because I think youre a nice guy doesnt mean Ive overrated you.

you cant overate pac if he fails to do what he is not suppose to do. 3 fights ago he was fighting at 130 and has since beat a 147lb and is taking on the best 140lb available. if he lost to a 130 lb or even a 135lb then you can say he could possibly be overated. as it stands, he is surpassing reasonable expectations.
