It should still be Pac. he's way, way above the weight that he should be fighting. He beat a legit title holder - though not the best - at 135. PBF comes back, he has to be number one, should Pac lose. But Pac losing to Hatton is like PBF losing to, say, Kessler. Pac has no right to be fighting Hatton (btw, that shouldn't take too much away from Hatton should he win. Pac is undoubtedly a elgit opponent for Hatton, but the fact that he is a legit opponent is little short of extraordinary).

If he beats Hatton, he should be ahead of PBF p4p, should PBF come back. And I say that as someone who thinks PBF's last four rounds vs Hatton was the best pure boxing performance I've ever seen.

don't you think he should have at least one fight out of retirement before he gets that distinction?

    hatton does believe this.

but look at it this way. He beat the hell out of Tszyu (yes, yawn, i know people make arguments against his win, but I really, really don't countenance them), who was consensus number five p4p (I'm being generous to doubters - i think three would be more accurate). don't forget what he dod to Mitchell, who many pudits had destroying KT. Then he's beaten Castillo, who would never in a million years be on my p4p list (people have prime Corrales beating prime Hatton- absolute madness and over-fondness for the entertainting JC, imo), but was very loved. then, he takes a few rounds off PBF fighting a dumb fight (PBF deserves nothing taken away from him here though, I will always say the last four rounds of that fight is perfect boxing. I believe Hatton could do well in a rematch, but in no way deserves one).

that's better than a lot of people who have been rated top five p4p. he wins vs Pac, hatton does deserve recognition, probably top five p4p.... which would then help prove the other thing I've always argued. PBF's victory, and its manner, vs Hatton was little short of extraordinary.

Hatton gets the p4p title as per the stipulated agreement.

Whether Hatton would take on Marquez in an attempt to unify the P4P titles (Marquez is the WBA Super Ultra P4P Champ) is unknown at this time.

not if its official he is coming back. floyd is a gym rat, his first round of his first fight back will look like he never took any time off at all.

I think Pac HAS to stay at no.1. Look he's fighting the best at 140 (which no-one can argue with). He just beat DLH into retirement (even though he was shot you have too give Manny credit he was superb) at 147. He beat ONE of the best fighters at 135 (can't fight the best everytime he deserved a bit of a break). He's beat Marquez TWICE now regardless of whether it was dubious or not. Marquez has the better wins at 135 but if Manny loses then Marquez still has to beat him in order to leapfrog him. No-one else apart from PBF is even close to these 2 in terms of P4P

    Hugger.

Manny is expected to beat Ricky Hatton.

Anybody who hasn't got a Manny poster in their bedroom will be the first to admit that Oscar was totally ****ed.

This translates as Manny beat one of the worst beltholders at the time. Marquez, was the first to stop Casamayor, and moved up and beat one of the best 135lb fighters on the planet in Juan Diaz.

Manny beat Marquez once, in a fight many people felt he lost. Many people kept Marquez at 2 because of how debatable that decision actually was.

    Stop making crack.

Sorry YES you are right he beat Marquez once forgot the other was a draw. Apart from that you are obviously a a Hatton nut job.
You are telling me Hatton is not AT THE MOMENT THE BEST at 140 regardless of whose favourite
Read my post ***** i said DLH was shot.
And saying David Diaz is one of the worst beltholders of all time is very harsh. Casamayor is past his best. Juan Diaz is a superb win yes but the Casamayor win was not !

Ignore Self Kill, this is totally correct.

Pac, for my money, is still quite a one dimensional fighter.

But so was Ali. so was Foreman.

Pac has done extraordinary things in the ring.

But, should Hatton win, please don't be one of those dicks who take the win away from him. this is a legitimate bout. Whoever wins is the better man. Hatton's win means a huge amount. Pac's win would be just beyond belief.

Sorry, I should've added that you can be one dimensional if you're that bloody good at what you're good at.

Let's face it, Lewis was probably as adaptable as most heavies in history.

But he still largely stuck to big jab, overhand right. Cos it was that good...

It has little effect on the rankings, Hopkins stays at #1, Mosely stays at #2, and Hatton stays at #3

Nah pal I wouldn't be one of those dicks. I think Hatton's ok really (aprt from the 3rd person speaking and claiming he's one of the lads then getting any famous person he can to do a ring walk with ha ha). Whoever wins will go up a lot in my estimation and whoever loses will not lose any credibilty as its a hard dangerous fight for both of them. Genuinely looking forward to it though

The third person thing nearly all elite boxers do.

Troible is, Hatton does it all the time and then trips himself up by occasionally talking in first person. He's deliberately doing the third person thing, which makes it worse.
