I guess it would depend on how he lost, but still I think it would be better than seeing Margo vs Floyd.

I've been debating with myself about this for a while. I want to see Pac lose to Margarito but at the same time I want him to win so he can fight Floyd. It could turn out like Zab Judah when Floyd fights the winner and loser

floyd would get no credit facing an midget overachiever who got beat by manos de piedra margarito and then beating him, he would be even labled a bigger coward then now. So if you like floyd and care for his legacy, better support him hard this saturday because if he loses floyds going to jump on it.

I think if pac loses it may make the pbf fight easier to make. It would also wake pac up and make him train like a beast and come in ready to prove to the world he is the greatest. Even if he does lose pbf vs pac would still be the biggest fight in boxing. Kinda like dela hoya losing big fights and people still wanting to see him fight the best.

Floyd would probably still get no credit if he beats pac now. Thats just the way it is. Hes damned if he does and damned if he dosent.

The point in the fight happening now is to bill it as who is really p4p the best......

.......How would a Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight be billed as if you were to have Pac lose to Margarito and then head to a Mayweather matchup?????

No if's, and's or but's, a Mayweather-Pacquiao matchup completely loses all its lustre if Pacquiao loses to Margarito.........it goes from a possible 2+million PPV buyrate, to less than a million PPV buyrate.......which would mean that a purse split between the fighters would have to go something like 75/25 in favor of Mayweather.

The fight simply would not happen with a Pacquiao loss.

he would not get the credit that pacquiao would get, he is the bigger guy and favourite based on styles. he would be the best of his generation without doubt though. but still be labled a ducker, thats his own fault.

I'd still want to see it, but it would lose so much of its value. You want it with them both looking great, not one guy coming in off of a loss. The whole point is to see the two best fighters in the world, pound for pound, facing off.

I dont expect Pac to lose, as this is yet again another hand picked fight against a fighter on the decline and with a recent loss...As weasely as Roach is, he isn't a dumb man.

That said, if Pac loses it further confirms that he has made a career fighting fighters towards the end of their career, and his wins should not be given the same amount of credit as someone who beat them in their prime.

For example, I give Morales more credit for his wins against a prime Barrera, than Pac's win against a past prime Barrera.
