P4P can lose and still be the best P4P figher, it just means this time he would be out of his depth...I personally don't think he would be...but still 4 weight champion, there is no one on a par..and Calzaghe doesn't compare slapping his way to victory
Calm down children, some of us actually have a life and dont sit behing a moniter all day. before Diaz 0nly 4 of his last 10 opponents were coming off a win, hardly the record of a p4p fighter. Last night he looked good but he was up against a fighter who a very shot Morales had beaten (then was robbed) The first Barrera fight was a great win for Pac but he has never reached those heights since imo. Morales was already on the slide in their first fight and still beat him but the second and third was a very shot version of EM. Marquez has imo beaten him twice and due to Pac being more marketable he gets the nod (money talks). Larios stepped up 2 weights to fight him. Guzman has twice called him out and the silence is deafening, Juan Diaz also asked him a few months back if he wanted to face a young Mexican. My comment on his p4p status may have been a bit harsh but I would certainly have Cotto, Linares, Vasquez, Pavlik and JC above him (and Marquez should be up there too but being robbed nipped that in the bud. As for the halfwit who suggested I'd have Khan in my top 5....get a grip sonny
I dont see whats on Linares or Pavliks record over the past few years that would justify either being above Pac. The others you could make a case for but Id say it was between JC and Pac for top spot.
Those were just a few names off the top of my head in no particular order. I am no Pac hater but when I seen his first fight against Barrera I was looking forward to see how far he could go but there can surely be no denying that his opponents have not been the best of the bunch. I will give him props if he beats Guzman or even Juan Diaz but as long as he takes the weakest of the crop then I just cannot praise him for it.
Yet you can seemingly put Pavlik above him for fighting Lockett. You make some fair points but it would appear you are looking for reasons to keep him out of the top five while ignoring the same things that would keep Pavlik & Linares out.
hmmmm? i think he takes no 2 spot. if people would complain, a $200 PPV match between him and mora or paul in a catchweight should be arrange RTFO to determine whos the real king
pac has fought all the best fighters throughout his career. some elite fighters he beat JMM twice, morales, MAB twice. these were all top level fighters. and joe calzaghe. 45fights unbeaten, 10 years as champion. beaten some top fighters who were expected to beat him in lacy, kessler, some predicted hopkins, byron mitchell robin reid. these two fighters both rank above cotto.
