They're already saying 'weight drained' and the fight hasn't even happened. If Pac wins which will be a very tall order then his win will be discredited because Mosely was weight drained. Jesus it's only 3 pounds. I wouldn't call that being weight drained.

Good move for Pac- I think he needs a real test before he fights PBF

it seems that more than half of the folks here thinks that 143 or 144 is a fair catchweight for both that would still give them credit if either wins.

again, my question for those who voted 147, how much credit would you give mosley if he beats pac at that weight?

So if Mosley comes less in weight there will be excuses?:huh

Maybe but i dont think people will say that he was shot or anything like that not after what Mosley did to Margarito.

i think it should be at 147, but since it won't, 144 would be alright i guess.

    143-144 obviously.

Pac was fighting at superfeather a year ago, and is a former flyweight.

He is not and never will be big enough to compete at the 147 limit. The heaviest he will ever weigh on fightnight is 148-149lbs.

Shane can weigh 160lbs on fightnight. Sorry, but a 10-12lbs gap against someone of Mosley's ability is just stupid.

    He isn't ****ing Carlos Baldomir.

    147 or nothing.

If Pac (or Roach) dont think Pac can handle Mosely without having to weaken him then they should look for an opponent better suited IMO.
We know Pac is fine at 147, especially when he can come in anywhere between 140 & 147 for a 147 fight.

so you think that mosley would get credit beating pac at 147? as we all know, mosley would be in the 160 range at fight night while pac would be 148 and would probably weigh just 142 during the weigh-in.

I just cannot understand this logic at all.

For Pac's only fight at 147, he could only weigh in at 142.

We all know Shane Mosley can weigh 160 on fightnight when he weighs in at 147.

Watch Oscar's fight against Steve Forbes. Watch Shane's fight with Margarito. It's clear as day that Oscar was far further past-prime than Shane is, and add to that he ****ed up making the weight - as proven by the fact he only put on one stinking pound in 24hrs, and ended up lighter than Pac in the ring.

Asking Shane to shed an almighty THREE POUNDS to make the fight at 144 is not deliberately trying to make him weak, it is simply an attempt to stop him from rehydrating to middleweight, giving him a 12lbs advantage over Pac, and rendering the fight a dangerous mismatch (anyone remember Gatti-Gamache??).

Come on to **** guys, play fair here. This is getting out of hand.

Pac was a superfeather a year ago. Now he is expected to choose to give away around 12lbs to the p4p#4 out of choice, when he has the option of trying to level the playing field a little by capping Mosley's rehydration weight??

    Sorry, but that's utterly absurd.

good post. i'm starting to believe that those who picked 147 just only wants to see pac in a too much handicapped situation so that his chance to lose would be bigger. they do not have any good reason/s why mosley would get credit if he beats pac at 147.
