Will you consider Floyd the best fighter pound for pound in the world if PBF dominates Ortiz and Pac stuggles with Marquez at welter where Floyd completely out classed Marquez? Some already consider PBF the best in the world as I do because I leave all the bull **** out of judging a fighter and leave it to the eye ball test and Pac is great but he is not PBF.

This is a big fight for Pac even though it is late and at the wrong weight. But Marquez is the first fighter in a long time since Marquez actually lol that is not coming off a loss and can counter punch and actually box. Marquez will show how much Pac has really improved as a boxer. You will see the difference in class come November.

When Pacquiao and Mayweather are both active, who ever fought more recently will be #1.
When Mayweather beats Ortiz, he will be #1 until Pacquiao beats Marquez.
It will be back and forth until they fight eachother.

In a true P4P sense Mayweather is already better, but in this case if Pac struggles with Marquez and Floyd still looks like he used to then yeah, he should be P4P number 1. PS, I can't stand Floyd, but credit where it's due, he's incredible in the ring.

On another side note, styles also make fights and I think Pac at this stage gets the win, Floyd's legs don't seem what they used to be, which would be a huge problem.

Marquez is a much better fighter than Ortiz. Coming in overweight against an undersized fighter should not be rewarded with praise. That fight was a sham. At least PAC is around the same size as Marquez.

Floyd hasn't done **** in the last year. If he wants to be on top, he need to earn it...by fighting PAC.

PAC could get knock out by Marquez and it stills wouldn't change the fact that Mayweather is running scared of Packy.

Triangle theory won't work in boxing.
Wait till Pac and May fight each other then you'll have the answer.:good

Floyd cannot become #1 unless he fights Pac or Pac retires

styles make fights. And Pac is smaller than Floyd so it's totally different.

    No.

Edit: I do believe Mayweather and Pacquiao are far ahead of everyone else in boxing, but just because he comes back and defeats Ortiz does not mean he jumps ahead of the more active boxers. If this bout was 5-6 months, or even under a year after he defeated Mosley...I guess you could argue putting him #1 P4P. But at this point, no...no matter how good he looks.

floyd needs to beat pac/martinez for this or pac would have to lose/draw vs jmm or retire.

Chances are, Pacquiao probably will struggle with JMM whilst Floyd cruises past Ortiz. But this, in no way shape or form, puts Mayweather ahead in the rankings.

I mean, think about it. One guy is facing a stylistic nightmare, whilst the other is feasting on a young, naive, and suddenly overrated fighter. Not to mention the latter boxes once every 18 months, and during that period, the former has beaten on 3 fighters that would probably crush Ortiz.

The only way Mayweather reclaims his throne, is if he fights and beats Pac. Then there will be no ifs or buts. Floyd will have then proven he's the number one guy.

IMO its down to personal choice. By all means look at the p4p listings but just understand they are based on opinion.

I have always put Floyd ahead of pac as he has better skills, is unbeaten, and I see him beating pac if they fight.

I don't think him struggling vs marquez is proof floyd is better, it just means marquez is a fighter that bring pac troubles style wise.

Its like when people say pac is better coz he kod hatton in 2 where as it took floyd longer. They don't deal with opponents in the same way and the same fighter poses different threats to each fighter

Personal choice also means someone can put Brandos Rios as p4p#1 if he wants to but that doesn't make it right.

    Ok to the Author,

Where would you rank them both, if say Pac crushes JMM and knocks him out cold within 4 rounds and mayweather gets an Easy UD against ortiz?

jmm's style is fit to make pacquiao struggle meanwhile ortiz' style play's very well to floyd. another is marquez is a much greater fighter and threat to pac than ortiz is to floyd.
