Dude, everyone should want full random blood testing IN EVERY SPORT ON THE PLANET!!! Don't know how that mentality dropped off. Bottom line: Mayweather says in the ring after he beats Mosley "no random blood tests, no fight". Pacquiao then chooses 7 days, after he just heard Mayweather say that he will not fight without random blood tests. It's pretty freakin' obvious that regardless of if you like random blood tests or not, it is not unreasonable to demand them. Read above, and BOOM! It'll boggle your mind, the truth.

The only acceptable way, per WADA, to detect the presence of EPO is through urine testing.

 

Team Mayweather is done being screwed around by Pacquiao and his camp. Now it's blood testing to the day of the fight, no concessions. Very simple.

I don't really call it "lying." It's more like not being specific enough. I do credit them for at least shortening the cutoff date. But still, it's really misleading when you say you agreed to "everything", especially when you tell it to the media which are masters at taking things out of context. I think Team Pac made a half assed effort for round 2 of negotiations. But that's still more than what Floyd put in. Then again he made it very clear he would not agree to a cutoff date even before the 2nd wave of negotiations began. So the finger can be pointed both ways.

Final deadline should be at the end of next year. By then Floyd should have developed an urge to fight again and Pac should be ready to drop his cutoff dates. No excuses.

Your examples don't parallel this situation at all. If a number you'd like to wear has been retired, or the league you play in has a specific dress code, your compliance isn't being dictated by your opponent. Pacquiao has always said if the commission mandated that he take the blood tests, despite his displeasure, he'd abide. So, he has never attempted to use "superstition" as an excuse for noncompliance with a sanctioning body or commission's rules.

The way you trivialize the potential impact of someone's superstition or irrational fear on their performance is amusing. Lets say you and I are negotiating the biggest fight of our careers. Suppose it is known that you have an intense fear of flying, which leaves you mentally stressed and exhausted. One of my demands is that you must fly to the location of the fight the day before the weigh-in. I, on the other hand, have no fear of flying, but will also be required to fly the day before the weigh-in. Would you accept the argument that this is fair because I am subject to the same conditions? You know as well as I do that Floyd's reason for insisting on blood testing is because he knows it messes with Manny's head. The unlimited urine testing Manny agreed to was insufficient because there is no psychological advantage in demanding something your opponent has no problems with.

Come on now, when you donate blood they take a pint. For the drug tests they take 1 to 2 tubes. Not even close to the same amount of blood. It really isn't enought to effect your body (talking physically; if you're mentally a *****, then it may effect you mentally).

You should just stick with the "he shouldn't have to make concessions argument."

Mayweather never demanded a 7-14 day window. At any time. He was willing to comprmise durring the first round of talks. Pacquiao was not.
Mayweather may not be the most honest person in the world. However he has been far more honest than Pacquiao in this matter.

 

No this isn't accurate, if you provide a window of time, then obviously there is an element of it not being random because you can definitively say "I'm not going to be tested inside "X" window". Testing up to the day of the fight doesn't imply there will be testing on those days, it simply leaves open the possibility of testing on these days. The PBF vs SSM fight was up til the day of the fight, and I believe they didn't test inside 18 days, but they could have if they chose to do so. Again, it's not to the fighters discression, it is up to the respective testing agency, and in this case the USADA. They probably wouldn't test inside 7 days, but the possibility is there and would act as a deterent.
