I guess our impass, is that you dismiss the need for top notch drug testing as a "power play" or "mind games", I view it as a necessity in sports period. It's not Manny or PBF, I believe that any athlete owes it to himself and his peers to imploy the best testing available to ensure a level playing field and safety for all. This isn't financially feasible for many fighters...cool I accept that, but in this instance the money isn't an issue and the expense is minimal relative to the overall dollars being earned. So again, the superstitous aspects are minimal compared to the larger idea of fairness, safety, and integrity of the sport. It speaks volumes that you would think this man that has overcome so much in his life, wouldn't be able to get over random blood tests to ensure the fairness and safety of his peers, do you see how illogical this sounds?
Whatever you say, it is still about Floyd wanting to dictate all aspects of the fight. And if you live in the real world, it's not going to happen, you have to make come compromises to make the fight. Going into a vacation saying you have no urge to fight, spewing unprovoked racial slurs are like the opposite of making the fight.
I'm all for more stringent testing dictated by the governing bodies. I think they should implement random testing outside of competition as well. Floyd taking vacations and then coming back more diesel is certainly suspicious. I also understand what you can and can't detect and what matrix is used. This makes it quite clear that Floyd's blood testing demands are not in the pursuit of ensuring a level playing field. Manny would be able to get over his issues over blood testing if the NSAC or other relevant commission ruled it necessary. It wouldn't suddenly make giving blood a pleasurable experience for him, but it's what his effective boss told him to do. Do you not understand this? Perhaps Manny's fear of being weakened by giving blood is balanced by Floyd's fear of losing his "0" so this should all be viewed as a wash...
Were the smaller rounds "bouncing off" them jungle savages? That A-side temporarily turns your skin into Kevlar! In fact, the first bullet-proof vests were made from the skin of Filipinos that died of old age. Come on, man. Are you seriously trying to defend the nonsense that fool spews?
No man, no it's nothing like PBF wanting to dictate all aspects of the fight, he allowed Manny to dictate essentially every other aspect of the fight, glove size, ring size, weight penalties, even the split of the purse was 50/50...I'm not sure how you arrive at this is PBF wanting to dictate "all aspects of the fight", could you explain that?
I just dont know who to believe anymore. BOTH have lied and been full of **** at different times, basically the situation is probabaly this... Mayweather needed a good excuse to get out of this fight, and Pacquiao was happy to give him one. Neither really wants it
This argument would be somewhat valid if there was a governing body in boxing but no such organization exists. The NSAC and organizations like this simply dictate the minimum standards an athlete must meet to be liscensed in said area, they don't set "rules", they set minimums. The fighters negotiate the "rules" as long as they meet the minimum standards of the commission. Why would a fight of this caliber, with athletes paid this much, in the current landscape of sports, settle for the minimum standards?
is it about cleaning the sport probally not. is it about making sure the man your fighting is clean? probally so
