in my opinion pac will be rated very highly. it'll take a few years for people to really realise just how good this guy really was.
pacquiao's resume though would be very great though if he manages to put margarito and floyd to what is an already great resume.
Thats why we need to devide it a bit, lets say last old days till the 80's and the 80's on, i think talking from 1980 til now srl would be number one on most peoples list thats why i wondered what a pac win would do for him on the ranking.
No. That would be Pacmans best win, and would be the standout victory on his resume. Leonard already has Hagler, Hearns, Duran and Benitez - All which can be argued as greater than Mayweathers scalp. Hagler and Hearns without a doubt.
Duran deffo is greater than Floyd. The man was doing things in a weight class not his own, way past his best and taking beasts to the 15th round.
What if Mayweather beats Pacquiao? Would you rate him higher? Or would he be recognised as the best fighter in last 10years?
floyd will be rated very highly, but floyd hasn't done himself any favour the past few years when it seemed pacquiao was fighting one tough boxer after the other, and theres floyd fighting the likes of baldomir. you look at pacquiao's resume as late over floyd's, and pacquiao is the better resume. he's been far more consistent on the top level of fighters he's fought in the last few years. it's a shame because in my opinion, floyd is the more talented boxer compared to pacquiao, but with the more activity pacquiao has over floyd's inactivity, then the chances are pacquiao will beat him. floyd is having too much rest for his own good.
I don't have conclusive P4P list, but I'd imagine Floyd would be around 40-45, Pacquiao top 35 probably. I don't think a win over Floyd would catapult him into #18, which he'd have to achieve to rank over Leonard for me.
