That's a given, even if he fights him people will find an excuse to try and make it look like he ducked someone else. Could be Margarito again or even Berto this time.

It's obvious Mayweather is aiming for Pacquiao with his return and Marquez as his first fight should be obvious who he wants after it if he's successful.

i think mayweather could beat pacman. hes just so awkward its un-real. sure has hell had to train to fight against him. but then again pacman is one fast bad dude.

I still think Floyd's too big and slick for Pac. And we know Pac has been tested by highly-skilled counterpunchers. A bigger, faster counterpuncher with much better defense than Marquez should be able to dismantle Pac. I wouldn't even be surprised if Floyd stopped him. That said, if this fight doesn't take place, and Mayweather's the reason, then, yes, people will mock Floyd as a coward who's too chicken to fight the naturally smaller man. Not saying it's right, necessarily, but that's what'll happen.

not really, i think people should stop basing things off the marquez fight. I for one think pac improved a lot since that fight and think if floyd is a better marquez then the pac today is a better pac than the one that fought marquez

The didn't fight best welterweights part is bull**** talk in my opinion and people who were around back then know well about it. The best Welterweight was Baldomir and Mayweather took care of it, Mayweather's move to Welterweight was to fight the best Welterweight in a megafight who was Judah at the time. Strange how people tend to ignore that and just go with bull**** rumors started by Bob Arum to desperately promote paper titlist Margarito who's biggest win was Andrew "Six heads zero chins" Lewis. The Cotto story is the most popular one and mostly ignored, Cotto was called out and turned it down because he wasn't ready and still a new Welterweight, when Mayweather retired then he was all of a sudden ready, Bob Arum **** again. Mosley was called out publicly and turned it down after he fought Vargas to clear the way for DLH and was also called out in February THIS YEAR(look it up) and turned it down. Williams was also a rising star at the time who openly announced he was chasing Margarito rather than Mayweather at the time.

The only division he didn't fight the best at was 140 and that had it's complications as well with Hatton demanding it takes place in England after the circus show they worked for him against Tszyu.

It will depend on who is at fault.... it could be down to Roach or Arum - using money as an excuse - I dont think either fighter will have a problem signing the contract.

They seem to forget that their two sides to every story and Floyd has yet to lose...they even keep a tight circle...they help each other train for him all types of ****....the truth is they're scared of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

I personally wouldn't look down on him no more than Calzaghe's fans look at Joe...as far as i'm concerned Floyd didn't have to comeback.

I'll have to disagree here, he HAD to come back. Pacquiao didn't just steal his spotlight but is also going to be ranked the greatest fighter of this generation, a title Floyd was hoping to secure. He has to come back and beat Pacquiao to change it because no discussion will favor Mayweather in this one unless he beats Pac.

At this point I think if they don't fight you blame Arum. Everyone wants to see the fight next and Arum has already come out and said it won't be Pac's next fight. That he'll be fighting in October against probably Cotto or possibly Mosley.

So, I don't see how you blame Mayweather at this point.

If that's true then you're right. Boxing should just get rid of all promoters. They're the death of the sport.

Now that he's back if he refuse's to fight the best in his own weight class or avoids Manny then yes I'd have to say Pretty boy wants no piece of them.

For example if he fights Bradley, Spinks, Guzman etc then retires that adds nothing to his legacy and is a joke to be quite frank.

If he fights Pac, Mosley, Cotto etc that adds value to his achievements.

    Time will tell.

I just think after he beats Manny it'll be something else so why waste time when you know whenever the discussion comes up anyway it'll be debated not only that the Pac fight will be delayed until next year what if Pac loses between then and now....

How is his argument any better than Floyd's when he just beat 2 fighters Floyd beat before him???

The only 2 fights Floyd should go after if he wants to secure his legacy is Paul Williams and Shane Mosely.
