Against a man who is naturally 20+ pounds heavier and De La Hoya wins by a convincing UD, who will be more respected?

Pacquiao IMO, definitely. If a man who won his 1st world title at 112lbs can last 12 rounds with a man who has won a world title at 160lbs, if a man who has only had 1 fight at 135lbs lasts 12 rounds with a man who has been fighting at 150lbs or above for SEVEN years, then I think that would be quite an achievement. For De La Hoya, I think it would be an embarrassment, even if he does win a landslide. Oscar MUST stop him or be shamed.

Pac easily. DLH has already suffered from taking this fight, if he delivers anything short of an impressive KO than his name will be in the mud

The "Oscar was shot" angle will get played. More than one factor here.

I think Pac can benifit from a win. Beating someone of that size is impressive regardless of the circus.

And it would be nice to shut up DLH once and for all :deal

If Pacman lasts the distance, he probably wouldn't even be able to enjoy his money or his legacy as a result of the damage he'll sustain.

Pac should fight dirty. A couple of low blows, rabbit punches, nibbling on the ears. Go Pac

True, this is a lose/lose situation.
