    No it won't.

Cotto has nothing to do with DLH, Hatton and Diaz and doesn't represent these guys.

No way. His legacy is as secure as it can be.

The only way he could possibly lose any stature is if he loses to Cotto then loses his next 5 fights in a row to less than stellar opposition.

    2 points:-

    a) Not one credible person would put Pac in the top 20 all time yet.
    b) No one loss drops a fighter over 30 places all time.

Pacman has a secure legacy. The guy won his first world title at flyweight and is now fighting for a welterweight belt. Pac is simply adding to his legacy.

    Pac TKO 10 Cotto.

i really disagree... this fight has no bearing on any other fight, oscar and hatton is oscar and hatton, cotto is cotto, the fights have no connection imo and i dont see how this fight can hurt pacs legacy in any way, shape or form.

You're a Pac hater for some time, don't deny it.

Weather or not you think it taints his past wins he can'tt be dropped 30 ****in places for 1 loss to a bigger guy at a weight he shouldn't be anywya.

    my point is

everyone will say the oscar & hatton win are totally over rated... because if pacman fails against cotto and/or fails miserably ... people will say pacman had no business with a 147'er anyways and the move up was a fluke

There are some posters here who doesn't want to give credit to MP's last few fights and they will continue to do so even if MP beats Cotto. As far as I'm concerned, if Cotto beats Pac, It's because he's the better fighter tonight.

I don't agree. Cotto is a tough customer and is recognized as such. Oscar was obviously a weight drained mess, but he was beaten into retirement. Hatton was legit. Cotto is better than either though and a loss to him after coming all this way in weight is no shameful defeat.

Hatton was at 140 though so I doubt what happens with Cotto would mess with that. That win is as secure as possible.

I agree with the thread creator. Notice he didnt say it will taint his legacy, even though he did say it will drop him all time. Remember that the reason hes thought of as a top 20 all time now is cause of his last 2 wins. If Cotto beats him soundly and makes it look like he cant beat any top 10 at WW, then it will change the way we look at him now.

He will still be an all time great imo, but it would still hurt him a bit and keep him out of the top 10 probably.
