We all know what Pac should do if he loses... If he comes out looking very sharp, taking little damage, and either KO's Lucas or wins a wide UD, then what is next for him? I am talking about a fast, dedicated, hard left hand throwing Manny. Should he go after the lkes of Bud and Spence? The man already has his legacy intact, but a win over either would only rise his ATG ranking. Does he fight 140 pounders for another year or two and retire? Curious to know what you guys think is possible, or probable in this scenario.
He would have to look seriously impressive to consider going after bud or spence. i'm not even sure looking seriously impressive against a 35 year old lucas matthysse even warrants going after those guy's, If i were him i would take the khan fight, bigger payday and good chance of ko'ing khan and less chance of getting ko'd himself.
That would be so sad Pac vs Crawford or Spence. There is a generation gap between them. I hope Pac retires or just takes on even lower opposition than Matthysse. Getting cracked in the head at 40 should be avoided if possible. Maybe the money is too good to turn down If Pac Wins I hope he retires or really turns it down in competition. This is risky business a lot of young Sharks at 147.
Even if he wins I would want him to retire he's fighting some one else at the end of their career Lucas isn't Bud or Spence
LMM is shot to pieces. I mean rewatch his last fight vs the Thai, he looked awful. The Thai was winning it until he took a dive. I would not overrate any kind of win here. Pac Man should call it a career and enjoy the rest of his life with a lot of money. No reason to fight the big names, he would take serious damage.
I think Pac should retire too, just based on age, accomplishments, and legacy. When has he looked bad though? He still looks like a top contender to me. If you take the fouls out of the Horn fight, he has had some really solid wins post Floyd. Wins against Horn, Vargas, and Bradley isn't too shabby.
His break down of Horn in the 10th round was better than Crawford's imo by turning Horn's face into something resembling ground meat... Yea, Horn was not going to do much else vs Crawford so the early stoppage was fair. However I can't help feeling that if Pac had the same ref, Horn would probably not have walked out of the ring on his own power given the aftermath on his face.
He should retire regardless of how he looks. He's an accomplished ATG, he doesn't need to take these meaningless fights.
He's an ATG and has a heart of gold outside the ring. I hope he retires and finds happiness in retirement. He has given boxing so much. Nothing worse than watching a great continue on and not be able to hang them up
If Pac thought he was still the man, he wouldn't have taken Matthysse, as if that is a step up from Horn. No knock to Matthysse. IMO Pac is supposed to win.
If Pac goes back to his old nimble way of fighting, then we will see an action packed fight with possible late stoppage to his favor.
He has allready displayed a lack of interest to fight the elite in the opposition even after he won the WBO belt from vargas and he has only aged since then.
Horn was DESTROYED by crawford for basically 98%of the fight. Horn obviously did not have the sheer punching power pac possesses but pac v horn was competitive til the end
