    :deal

pacfans dont seem to realise that even the 14day cut off leaves opportunity for fighters to take some PEDs for the last 8 or 9 days of hard training, stop taking a few days before the fight and the system will be clear by the post fight test

as much of a complete tosser floyd is i am totally behind and respect this aspect on what he has brought into the game, i find it strange how shane managed to throw bombs for 9 rounds against margo then done so for 1 round against floyd and was gassed, the current drug testing is not adequate and it gives the opportunity for fighters to dope, if random tests were brought in without anyone knowing, the positive rate would be through the roof quite possibly in the 30 to 60% range

Not true. ESB crashed many times so I've lost alot. Check out the Roy Jones drug saga when Widdow Makker put forth a huge case. I was very vocal. It was a huge topic in the General Forum.

What personal opinion do I have each fighter? I'm huge fans of Floyd and Pac.

Even I've never made a comment on this issue that DOES NOT mean that now that the issue is alive that I can't chime in and say we need stricter drug testing.

I didn't say it didn't mean you can't chime in when you want, just that you may be on iffy ground accusing other people choosing sides based on their like/ dislike of Mayweather when you have no (searchable) history going back 5 years of posting on the subject until Mayweather made his thoughts on the issue public.

You were accusing myself and DanB of being Pac "apologists" when all we were questioning was why their was all off a sudden, after all these years, there was (apparently!!!) this huge need for drug testing for this fight. We wern't saying drug testing wasn't a good idea or that it shouldn't be implemented, just asking why all of a sudden now and with this fight?

Then it turns out you didn't seem to give much of a care about it yourself until Floyd piped up.....

Absolutely, poetic justice for Margarito though.

Surely its not down to Floyd to demand this though, its the governing body, if they deem the current methods ok then so be it

If Pacquio agrees to 2 weeks before the fight, that is still not olympic style drug testing. Lance Armstrong, Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, none of these guys get to choose when they are stop being drug tested before a championship.

But Pac complies with the regulation stated for Boxing.

Floyd needs to stop being a diva

I'm not accusing anyone in particular but I am in general. I have absolutely no doubt that people are letting their opinions of Floyd affect their judgment. That is why they usually come back with the excuse that Floyd is trying to duck the fight.

I don't care if you can't find my evidence from the past 5 years. I'm telling you the last time roids was a big issue, and that was the Jones Hall scandal, I sure as hell chimed in. Whether or not you believe that I don't care.

Floyd thinks Pac is on drugs. Simultaneously this brings up the drug testing issue. That is not a bad thing.

LOL at all the overnight PED experts. Stop quibbling over **** you knew nothing about before December; stop hanging off every vacuous interview you see; and stop affording gravitas to obscure articles written by nobodies.

This **** is old, old, old. They will negotiate and we will watch; end of.

I know because I am new to the forum I might be criticised but I find Floyd annoying, for some reason I know he is one of the P4P best but I always think he seems to go for old men, I think he is being to strict on Manny.

The governing bodies should NOT deem the current methods ok though, given the amount of high profile fighters who have turned out to be drug cheats. If nobody else will drive change towards tighter drug testing then the fighters themselves will have to if they want a clean sport. Floyd is one of the few who is in a position (and is willing) to walk away from big pay days if need be so he can make it happen.

I don't know whether Pacquiao is taking anything and I prefer not to jump to conclusions on something that could discredit some of his biggest wins. However, when you're moving up in weight in your 30's and smashing people to bits people will ask questions. He can answer those questions very easily and I hope he does

So what? Boxing is unique as a sport in that there aren't really any governing bodies with any clout. It's almost every man for himself.

If Floyd wants testing thats up to him. I'd go so far as to say as long as both fighters get tested at the same time so no one gains an advantage it's a good thing.
