This isn't another ATG thread, it's a much more current thread.

If Pacquiao beats Ugas does he overtake Crawford and become the number 2 WW in the world?

Simple yes or no will suffice.

    Poll added.

Yes. He will have beaten two welters in a row better than anyone Crawford has faced. We don't even know if Crawford is good because he only fights lower tier opponents.

I feel this way to a certain extent, but not as extreme.

I feel with wins over Thurman and Ugas, he has the form to justify number 2.

But I just can't help but think how much of an under dog he would be to Crawford.

I didn't even know it was for a belt tbh.

But Thurman and Ugas are consecutive top 5 rated guys.

Crawford is a bit thin in terms of WW resume. His ranking is based purely on perceived ability at 147.

It gets to a point where you can't assume Crawford is this or that. A 30 something so called pound for pound boxer with probably the weakest resume of any pound for pound boxer in history. Unification means nothing when scrubs are holding belts. If Pac beats Ugas I'll definitely have him #2 at welter

I think his resume at WW is weak, before that it was as good as anyone's.

But its been 4 years now of dross at WW and at some point we do have to stop making assumptions of talent.
