.....Assuming you felt Marquez did in fact do better the second time. Keep in mind as well, most people tend to believe Marquez was (and still is) starting to fade at the time of their second meeting.

    (DISCUSSION THREAD)

I overheard a great debate on this subject tonight. Your take?

I'm not really one for these types of threads, but **** it. Let's see if we can get something interesting..

Coz Pac was busy humping woman, **** fighting and doing beer ads with Morales. Which what he is doing right now.

Pac is getting stupidier outside the ring because of his blood sucking leeches..

    Sike!

Cause Marquez style is the kryptonite of Pac's ability.

    Thread END!

Damn that's a good one, B. I would have added that to the poll. I should have waited.

Still, Pacquiao had that same advantage I guess.. So they're on an even playing field again.

Even though I did add that to the poll myself seperately I only did so as a luxury. That's really just a copout.. Thread REOPENED.

Like Bernard Hopkins, Marquez is a tactical, intelligent fighter and it makes sense that he would be better in rematches than in the first fight because he already knows what his opponent brings to the table.

Pacquiao at his core is a swarmer who's speed and style his opponents are unable to handle because they have never dealt with it before.

Also, Marquez had a 14 week training camp, which is absolutely amazing.

I thought they both looked better in the 2nd fight.

Excellent answer. Although I would say in a sense that this answer accounts for no aspect of Pacquiao's improvement whatsoever. Or perhaps Pacquiao's improvement was just enough to keep him from clearly losing to a more tactically educated Marquez - which is water tight, if that's what you meant.

Apart from the first round blowout of fight one, ee didnt do better than the first time

He pretty much schooled pac the first fight, the second one was far closer

Take that first round out the first fight and Marquez won easily

Marquez ensured that round never happened again as he went into the second fight hyper alert ane stayed that way the whole fight

Marquez did better in the sense that he fought better, but the problem is that Pac's technical skills and ring intelligence also improved, so in the end the result was the same which is Pac edging out a close fight.

Yep, that's good stuff, P. Sharp.

Marquez may have clearly edged it though, and that's where people might disagree with you.

Because we say is the truth

Marquez style is Pac's kryptonite = Pac will never win convincingly

Pac's gifted ability overcomes Marquez technical ability = Marquez will never win convincingly

Even if they fight a thousand times... It will end up a draw!

We won't know until they meet in they're new weight class.

Pac has his right and upgrade his speed and power.

Marquez has SUPER DUPER Counter ability now and he has more speed not to mention he is more bulked up now.
