Pacquiao has improved immensley pre Morales 2 all he was was left hand left hand occasional jab no right hook no variety of punches, But Marquez just has the answer to Pacs style its a styles matchup Pacquiao can stay with Marquez because of his punch power and his sheer athleticism.

I thought Pac did better 2nd time round, he won :p - the 3 KD's Pac scored first time 1st round helped make the scorecard close.

I just re-watched the 1st JMM fight. He has improved alot, In the 1st fight it was kinda frustrating to watch because all Pac wanted to do was land his straight left hand. If you watch each fight after that, you can see Pac added different punches to his attack, most recent with Hatton a good right hook.

I remember virtually this whole forum did'nt give JMM an iota of a chance against Pacquiao, especially after having just watched Pac easily destroy Morales in their third fight........

"Pac is an improved fighter, he has added "Manila Ice"

Even the media had bought into it.......

I liked what Nacho Beristain had to say about it before that rematch......Nacho stated something to the effect, "There is some improvement in Pac most definitely, but I happen to believe that Pac is more dangerous and harder to solve fighting maniacally and just throwing caution to the wind from all angles......If Pac wants to match wit's with Juan, we'd welcome it, as I think it would be to our advantage."

    .......Nacho was spot on!

I actually think Pac's needed to improve technically as he's moved up on weight, but he just is'nt ever going to improve enough on the technical side of it to match skill level against the better intelligent fighters......luckily for Pac there are so few of those elitely skilled intelligent fighters around.........JMM, Mayweather........I would even say Cotto is very skilled but lacks some of the tangibles that Marquez and Mayweather carry.

It wasn't Pac's boxing skills that gave JMM problems, it was his speed and power. That didn't change between the first and second fight. Against someone who isn't as technically masterful as JMM, Pac's improved skills could certainly make a huge difference in how he does against them.

Pac himself is an elitely skilled intelligent fighter. Its just that this is not his MO. He is first and foremost a swarming physical force who happens to be at the same time an elitely skilled intelligent fighter.

Pac fought JMM's fight in the rematch because he knew that the style he is most comfortable with was tailor made for JMM. And he still came out on top. Now that is impressive

he did better the 2nd time because he didn't get knocked down as many times.

Pac did just the only thing to ensure a victory and that was knock his opponent down. Instead of stealing rounds, maybe it would be wise once in awhile to go for the kill.

Marquez is a good fighter, Pac just did enough to eek out a win.

Don't forget that a judge's error COST Pacquiao a deserved win.

It had to be frustrating watching JMM land that right hand counter over and over.....and Pac make the same mistakes over and over.....

......and I've said this before many times.....Pac himself knew that right hand counter was coming everytime he threw his left....and at least he was able to brace himself for the impact of the the right hand coming crashing.......

I actually thought that JMM's punches had better effect and landed with more authority in the rematch, and it was precisely because Pac was'nt just lunging in with his left and being able to brace for the right hand counter coming from JMM......
The fact that Manny was varying his attack somewhat, meant that he was defensively leaving himself open to JMM to counter him in other ways.......

When Pac was hooking with his right, Marquez could now counter it with a jab or left hook......all of a sudden with Pac now moving both his hands, so is Marquez on the counter, and so now, Pac is having more difficulty gauging and thus "bracing" for the incoming that he is'nt quite so sure where they're going to come from.

In the rematch, Marquez landed cleaner, crisper and harder, because Pac's newfound "Manila Ice" opened up more avenues to counter!:D

.....try training to box on your toes to beat a prime Ali.......thats what essentially Pac was doing when he tried to go the technical side of matters with JMM!:deal

Again DZ, you dont win a fight by scoring a knockdown.....there are 11 other rounds to be scored.

I wish you *******s tried to make a case that Pac won rounds (which is how you're supposed to win legit decisions) instead of saying that Pac won because he put JMM to the canvas........but I know, its not possible to make such case.

fights are scored on a point system. Knocking down your opponent makes him lose points. Theres nothing about that thats not legit.
