I think Pacquiao was weight drained in the second fight. He clearly had outgrown 130, which is where the fight was contested, as he was weighing in at 145-147 on fight night. If the fight was contested at 140 I am pretty sure Pacman would dismantle JMM.

it's not even an excuse. pac was already weight-drained since the barrera rematch at 130 that's why they moved-up to 135 after beating jmm at 130.

You know exactly what I'm referring too.......I've seen so many *******s post that had JMM not tasted canvas, he easily wins the fight......

.....now I'm talking about the rematch here......how can a one point victory for Pac with a knockdown, now turn into an easy victory of JMM without such knockdown???

If without the knockdown its an easy victory of JMM, logically having been knocked down once only closes the scoring gap, but not nearly enough to turn an easy victory into a loss.

......but I see it routinely expressed that way by *******s!:patsch

but struggling to get to 130 is not the main reason why this fight is close. jmm is a great fighter himself and no shame in having a close fight with him especially noting the fact that pac's style is fit for someone like marquez. and to edge out a decision over him speaks volumes on how pac handled this handicap.

no sh*t sherlock. Pac will not be turned into some masterboxer. Not even when your fighting someone as skilled as JMM. He's going to use what he's learned already with his agressive style.

Pac has always used his volume punching to win rounds..

so why did JMM suddenly turn more into an agressive boxer?

And to anyone who says Pac hasn't improved, uhhh have you seen Pac use a right to knock somebody out?

C'mon man, lets not go there again.....you know as well as I that it was in Pac's court to name the weight division......130 lbs or 135 lbs, Marquez publicly laid his cards out and dared Pac to fight him and at any weight he wished.......

    .....Pac chose 130 lbs!
You cant dispute facts my friend!:deal

Pac will get outboxed by JMM everytime.......

You know, I've never said that Marquez easily outboxed Pac.......because of Pac's greatness at what he does, its a hell of a physically taxing fight everytime.

....but in my mind there is absolutely no question that Pac need to KO Marquez to beat him.....Boxistically he's not good enough to take rounds from him without scoring knockdowns........and twice he has'nt finished the job when scoring those knockdowns.

i know this and pac's camp decided to have the fight at 130 so that it can be for jmm's belt. so i don't put much weight on pac being weight-drained because they have commited to this fight.

it's the same thing with the oscar-pac fight. oscar committed to fight pac at 147 but people are saying that oscar was drained. so its not pac's fault same as its not jmm's fault that pac was struggling to make 130.

i always say that it was jmm's style plus his great skills that made it a hell for pac more than any other reasons.

Pac is at the apex of his skills. When he was faced with guys who took his shot, like any top fighter, Pac was in it for the long haul over 12 rounds. JMM and Morales showed us this. Has PAc improved? Yeah, he is in better shape, and fights smarter than he used to at 122. Has he improved since the so-called rematch win over JMM? No.

Pac-JMM will always be a tough fight. Their styles just clash.

Pac has not improved in his last 3 fights, but that isn't a knock against him. His last 3 opponents were a drop off from the big 3 he was fighting. We will see if Dapidran has improved in the Cotto fight even though I hate the fact that Cotto is coming in at 145.

imo pac did beat jmm, albeit a close one. i know that you had it wide for jmm but let's not get into that. pac demonstrated that he can beat jmm by points but not as decisively as a stoppage. this is why i admire jmm. he seem to recover from shots and situations that other fighters would just fold and buckle down. he demonstrated this not only in his fight with pac but also in his fights with barrera, casa and diaz.

Marquez did better because Pac did not really improve from the last fight. The fact is Marquez has his number so I don't expect a third fight unless Marquez can beat PBF.

The only time I ever saw JMM in real trouble, hurt was the first PAc fight, and the big left he got caught with by Norwood.

he's not in real trouble in the casa or juan diaz fights but these guys are bigger than jmm that you would be thinking if jmm could take much of their shots during those rounds or moments that they were connecting and forcing jmm to back-down. in the barrera fight, he was a little dazed by the kd punch followed-up by an illegal blow but he recovered from that punch quickly. in the pac rematch, he just needed 1 minute to fully recover from that same short-punch where david diaz was put down and stopped.
