if you are saying this, you were probably watching this fight from jmm's point of view only. if you will noticed how pac and roach employed a new game plan for the rematch. pac was more aware of jmm's counters that pac would quickly pull-up the guard once he unloads his own. this make pac's workrate less but it also brought down jmm's accuracy (presently the best along with floyd) to a low percentage compared to him fighting other opponents like casa or juan diaz. this also forced pac to fight tactically and boxed with jmm and showed that he can hang with a great technical fighter.

imo, those two fights with each other help both fighters improve and put them to where they are now.

Why did Marquez do better the second time?

Cause he's a great fighter duugghh!

People put too much emphasis on statistics.

Did Joe Frazier look washed up in his third fight with Ali?

Thats what people were saying. Because he was destroyed by Foreman and outboxed by Ali in their second fight.

You can improve all you want. But when your in their against a great fighter. Its gonna be tough no matter what you do?

Pac has not improved much as he's been credited with.

He's improved greatly but what changed from the fight fight that we didn't know?

Marquez can outbox Pacquaio. The only difference is, he didn't get knocked down 3 times in one round.

Not many can go 12 rounds with Marquez check Juan Baby Fat Diaz.Juan is a one the best of this era.I see da improvements that I wanted PAcquiao to make..Ctrled aggression.Overall He won't be slick,he is what he is, but smarter and more patient.

Bad analogy and two totally different scenario's.......
DLH's only shot to land a fight against Pac was to have the fight at 147 lbs because Pac was already moving up two weight divisions from 135 lbs.....
It would have been insane to ask Pac to fight DLH at 154 lbs.

You think if DLH had his pick of how high he could weighin vs Pacquiao, he would'nt have chosen 154 lbs???

Well in the matchup we're talking about here, JMM let Pac know, "You want 135 lbs, lets go, I'll fight you at 135 lbs.

......but Pac then chose 130 lbs to fight JMM in.....

.....and btw, there is no evidence what so ever that Pac was drained at 130 lbs.

Pac didn't improve so greatly the second time they met. I saw same hunt you down style from Pac which is perfect for Marquez's great counterpunching style. The new Pac surfaced on the Diaz fight. If he was improved, he surely reverted back to the old Pac and didn't employ his new skills. Also, Pac had trouble making weight at 130, gained too much weight for fight night, and to me looked lethargic in that fight. If I remember, he tried to get that fight at 135, but failed. Still, he fought well enough to gain a controversial split win.

Its not just about styles......MAB is also an exellent counterpuncher, but he could'nt do jack **** against Pacquiao.......

Its a tough fight for Pacquiao simply because JMM is great, point blank!!!

in this case pac has no choice but to fight jmm at 130 where it matters. pac should have fought barrera first for the wbc and lineal title at 130. but because of GBP-TR tussle over pac's contract, GBP let jmm had the first crack at mab. it would be less rewarding for pac to fight jmm at 135 that time because we all know that his fans rallied pac to postpone fighting david diaz at 135 to get the 130 title(that jmm got from mab) and at the same time to settle the unfinished business of the first fight.

haven't you seen the weigh-ins for his last two fights at 130? it's a proof that pac was already struggling to get to 130.

Just stop your nonsense bro.........Marquez established his boxing superiority against Pac at 126 lbs.......weight was'nt an issue at 130 lbs as nothing changed from what happened at 126 lbs, where surely you're not going to tell me Pac was drained there as well.:patsch

Your nonsense is just nauseating......I clearly remember Freddie Roach saying right during the weighin that Manny was in superb shape, that they had no problem making 130 lbs.....that they were confident they would knockout JMM.......and that he'd tip his hat to JMM and say he was just a better fighter if he should beat Pac.

Nothing during that camp would suggest that Pacquiao had trouble making weight.

i always say that weigh is not the main factor and always said that it was jmm's style's advantage plus his skills made this fight a difficult one for pac but we could not turn blind and say that pac is not struggling at 130 on his last two fights at the weight. moving up to 135 is not a mere coincidence.

I actually thought JMM didn't do as well the 2nd go round. The first fight he proved to be the more intelligent and more dynamic fighter with the variety of Skills he showed from rounds 3-12. The rematch I felt it was back and forth but PAC did more damage and was able to out box JMM in spots thanks to his speed and reflex advantages., plus he had improved a bit by that time offering new elements to his boxing that he lacked in the first fight.

Right.....I felt PAC won both but JMM's style and his counter punching accuracy is something that will always be a problem for PAC. But not a big enough problem that he looses.:D
