If Pascal stops Hopkins ater beating Dawson is he Fighter Of The Year?

Pascal was ready to go when Dawson got cut. So there is a question mark on that fight to. I would personally vote for Martinez no matter what happenes in this fight. But if Pascal beats Hop he'll have a really great year. More over he has so much lucrative fights in front of him. He can rematch Dawson or wait for Bute to come up. He can eventually rematch Froch

 

I would put him as the fighter of the year, however im sorry but no fighter in that division will be able to stop hopkins

Nah, I don't do ban bets, they're dumb. If I want to post, I'm posting, ban or not, so there's no point because I wouldn't stick to it. An avatar bet is sufficient.

This bet is precarious from my p-o-v because the fight will most likely be in Pascal's hometown which could skew the scorecards, but I fancy Dawson for a stoppage anyway.

 

Pascal was hurt. Dawson was never hurt. Next time, Dawson will be angry and won't let him off the hook. Dawson is a much better fighter than Pascal.

This. Pascal has an excellent chin and he plays possum in every ****ing fight, those who saw only one Pascal fight are not aware of this!

 

Williams had already been to the canvas. B-Hop, on the other hand, has never even been seriously hurt in his career.

 

I reckon The Ring should choose Pascal and Martinez ex aequo for this award. It wouldn't be the first time.

 

He absolutely should be Fighter of the Year if he stops Hopkins. Hopkins has never been stopped and has only been down in one fight in his career despite having a HOF calibur resume. To beat Dawson (who is a better fighter than PW) then not just beat, but KO Hopkins (who is obviously better than Pavlik) makes him the obvious choice over Martinez for Fighter of the Year. Pac shouldn't even be considered.

 

Good thread. I think Pascal was ready to go after Dawson had him in trouble in the late rounds, but that's only insinuating. The fact is Pascal did enough early in the fight and Dawson didn't so Pascal's early work paid off. I'm positive if Dawson wasn't so hesitant he would of stopped Pascal, but maybe he'll get him next time. A win is a win, not brilliant performance by Pascal, but he did beat the man to be the man at 175. If he beats Hopkins, in a way it might be a bigger win over a bigger name, but Bhops hasn't done anything of significance lately. If he does stop Bhops it's because Bhops is obviously too old I wouldn't give him too much credit, but he will be known as the only man to stop Bhops. No I wouldn't name him FOTY. That honor belongs to Sergio Martinez.
