IF Pascal stops Hopkins, How much credit will you give him.......

Come on mate, as much as I love hopkins there's not a hope in hell of him ko'ing that granite jaw. Can always hope though!

 

I had one of those shitty days where you feel like you've accomplished nothing at work, all day...You gents just got me out of my funk though by reminding me that Old man river and Mickael Phelps (Pascal) will be lacing up the gloves in the next few months.

I would give Pascal huge credit if he was to KO Bernard. Even at this stage ole 'Nard is almost impossible to KO as he's so locked in to that craftyness in defence and he never gives you the same look twice, plus his ring IQ is off the chain.

Pascal is not exactly Julian Jackson even if he was to catch Hopkins with something big. He's a more "thief in the night" or overwhelm you with his athleticism type of guy. Actually i can't remember the last time he starched or even stopped someone through accumulation...might've been when he fought a bum on FNF's, LOL! Let me tell you what that indicates in his propects of stopping Hopkins...I'm a risk manager by day and keep in shape by hitting the garage heavy bag at 200 punches for 3 mins lasting for 10 rounds...what does that say about me?...not much but even I could knock out a bum on FNF's, lol!

No chance of stopping even a father time ravaged Hopkins. This fight is a cert for 12 rounds, which Bernard can't sustain anymore and Pascal is odds on for the decision.

Tony says Hopkins will stop Pascal even at this stage in their respective careers. All i can say is i want some of that devil's lettuce you're smoking Mr Bellew, LOL!

 

Exactly. Since when was Pascal a concussive puncher? Also, since when has Hopkins been prone to being KO'd? B-Hop may be well on the slide, but Pascal ain't knocking him out any time soon.

I reckon it's more than feasible that Pascal can take this fight on points, though.

 

I love the way Hopkins dips, rolls and counters and even just over a year ago i would've picked him to win this, but i don't think this version of Hopkins will have enough against Jean's athleticism and "get there first" approach. Hopkins has halted father before though and he does have the style advantage, which is probabily why he's taking the fight...he sees a lot of flaws he can exploit in Pascal. I just think he's at that stage where his mind will be wrighting checks his body won't be able to cash. If the fight is clean without elbows and head butts, Pascal should walk away 116-112 on 2 of the cards. However i may change my mind if Ex wears his "X" mask to the ring, LOL!

Hopkins could not even make a dent on him.

Don't underrate Jean Pascal.

Hopkins is a great great man, and fighter.

But its OVAAAAAAAA!

 

He would definitely get credit for stopping Hopkins but not that much for a decision win. I think Pascal can lose more in this fight than he can gain.

 

All Bernard Hopkins does, when he faces any good opponent with decent speed & athletic ability with boxing skills is..................

Throw a straight right hand lead, and hold.....step on his toe, walk him back.

Throw a Jab, and hold.

Throw a one..two and hold.

Move about the ring, and repeat.

James Toney is the best Old School fighter out there, Hopkins throws a punch and runs in with his head down..........looking for the hold.

Once he comes up against a athletic fighter with a brain, Bernard Hopkins cannot handle the pressure. He's never done good against that type of fighter........its the reason why Jermaine Taylor ****ed him over twice, and Joe Calzaghe forced him to fake low blows because he couldn't hack the pressure........and Roy Jones tour down his whole career, and forced him to rethink how he went about this game.

Bernard Hopkins in his old age is like a magic artist, creating a optical illusion, with smoke, screen and mirrors. Picking the right oponent to just about pull it off...............Jean Pascal is a massive massive risk.

I don't think Jean Pascal believes in magic, and he's gonna smash them ****ing mirrors.
