I am surprised at how wide the odds are for this fight. Briedis gave Opetaia hell in the first fight.
True, but it's been almost 2 years and he hasn't fought since. While Opetaia has been staying active and improving, Breidis has been out and at 39 certainly won't be getting any better, atleast not physically
Oh yeah I agree but Sportsbet have him at almost $6 over here. I would've thought maybe around the $3.50mark
I think people are expecting Marciano-Walcott II, when in truth, it goes the other way too, with the older fighter bouncing back. Andries-Harding, for example.
I wouldn't rule out a face plant Charr like KO either. Briedis would have a field day countering Haye's herky jerky in and out nonsense. To answer your question, I think already he is.
Breidis won't have gotten any better. Opetaia has. Barring the unforseen Breidis gets his arse handed to him.
Hard to see how an inactive Breidis can do any better than the first time - but then again, Opetaia's level of comp hasn't get near even this past-prime Breidis. I guess there will be a bit of psychology at play here as well as to how both fighters hanlde being back in the trenches with each other, for both - but especially Jai those must be horrifcally painful memories!
