all true liston and ali would beat him but those are 2 top 4 atg. and also his resume would be the almost the same i know. but i believe if he had a chin like ali he would be a better fighter and for example in a fantasy all time heavyweight tournament he would do much much better

Make him the size of Mike Tyson instead.

    liston top 4 atg ?
who did he beat for it ? patterson ?
liston is not even top 20 atg at hw alone .
    marciano , louis , ali , foreman , jeffries , dempsey , frazier , lewis
are the saints here. i didn't see much on dempsey lately.
tua would have destroyed liston early , great chance for a 1st rd KO.
inside the distance of 12 for sure.
but no one who knows what he's talking about considers tua top 4 atg even at hw alone.
tua would also smash a patterson with ali's chin before the end of rd3
(including the possibility of before rd3).
tyson would still beat him , stoppage probably.
patterson was below 165 in the olympics - that's like chris byrd , joe calzaghe , erdei (sorry for the insult of mentioning him with these names) , michalczewski , lacy (sorry again) , etc.
patterson had nothing to look for except some lucky wins against medicore oposition and stoppage losses at hw.

tyson was 1" shorter , BUT was naturally much stronger and heavier.
so now you want not only to give poor patterson ali's chin , but also tyson's muscles ? why not give him vitali's size also and settle for it ?

    I like Floyd Patterson.
Let's give him X-Ray vision and the ability to shape-shift. :good

Vitali is too big. I wouldn't mind Patterson having Liston's 84" reach though.

not me , the catholic church.
each one of them had a good chance against liston , despite marciano and dempsey probably being weaker , and probably not.
again , who did liston beat to be regarded atg at heavyweight ?

    it was a joke.
i just meant it was still not enough (to give him ali's chin).
patterson should have never go beyond 175.
he lost to joey maxim there.
    BTW : also SRR.

SRR , lamotta , hagler , monzon would all got exposed as having 'glass jaw' if they'd try their luck at hw.
a man should fight men his size and about it.
no wonder getting stopped when fighting much bigger.
    no shame either.
the oposite , however , should be considerred an honour.

What if he had Ali's chin, Liston's reach, Lennox Lewis's size and Earnie Shavers's power?

The loss to Joey Maxim was a bit controversial in my opinion. It was an eight round fight and Patterson was something like 18-19 years of age at the time.

Aside from that Patterson seemed to walk through most of the light heavyweights he fought, including Archie Moore and Yvon Durelle.

If my memory is right, there was a collective ATG HW ranking in this forum just a couple of month ago.

I think that Liston landed a confortable 11th place, just next to the Top 10 HW.

Tua did't even make it to the statistical annex :deal
