i don't care if he's able to land 100%, 30 punches per round won't cut it against a guy that averages over 100.

williams by ud, don't expect floyd to ever take this fight

I would make Williams a clear favorite over Mayweather. You obviously can't discount an ATG like Floyd, but the Punisher is a terrible matchup for him.

Williams isn't the kind of fighter who needs to see an opening to punch. This is the problem ODLH and many others have had against Floyd. Even Gatti wanted visual recognition to fire his shots, and Mayweather is so shifty, they just don't can't get comfortable.

But Williams throws for the sake of throwing, and his jab is so long and prolific -- with pretty good speed -- that he'll take rounds by outworking Floyd.

Mayweather isn't accustomed to fighting at that pace, and where Williams is vulnerable -- power -- PbF doesn't have the ability to exploit at the higher weights.

The bad matchup for Williams is Cotto, with Cintron also posing a real threat.

    Floyd will never fight Williams.

First and foremost, Floyd would get hit in this fight. ALOT. There is no avoiding it for 12 rounds when a guy has the kind of reach and punch output that Williams has. He might not be getting hit clean every time, but Williams would punch ever inch of him.

Floyd can't hurt Williams to make him pick his shots either. Frankly I can only see Floyd winning this one on the inside, where he would have to be the aggressor. Floyd has proven himself to be nothing but a career boxer, and I simply don't see him willing to take it to Williams in order to win. He could, but he doesn't have a fighters mentality.

    This fight will never happen.

Many thought Hernandez, Corrales, Judah, DLH even Baldo and Gatti could beat Floyd. There is always someone who can supposedly beat Floyd.

At the moment we are on Ricky Hatton - let's talk after the bout.

What do you guys think would've been the bigger fight?

    PBF/Hatton or PBF/Mosley?

I personally think it would've been slightly Mosley because of their similiarities in their styles. And i really do think that PBF wants to put Mosley on his resume but that he is waiting a little longer for Mosley to lose some of his skills.

Anyone else think this is the case?

You pegged the only man I can see defeating PBF. He is as quick, throws a ton of punches and Floyd wouldn't be able to get close to Paul.

    Williams by decision. :good

PW needs to improve his balance, technique and power before I put him in with PBF.

No. He was ready for Mosley right after the Vargas fight but mosley had a tooth ache and wanted to go on vacation with his family.

I haven't seen enough of Willams. I know he is good but how good? He's tall but how dose he take advantage of his natural advantage?

Williams will be avoided at 147 by all the big names except Margo who wants revenge. He will have to go to 154 to get a decent fight. Williams is a stylistic nightmare for PBF southpaw long, decent speed, good stamina, good jab and workrate. I can't really blame PBF for ducking him.

Williams is the guy who can beat Mayweather at 147. Why? His height, reach, and workrate. All freakish for the division. Floyd would have a lot of trouble, but I'd still love to see this fight. I'm curious to see how Floyd would handle Williams.
