Of course not. Kelly Pavlik is the new American superstar, knockout king, the next Monzon and Hagler.

But if he fights Hopkins he won't be knocking him out like the majority of his fans believe he will do. Bernard Hopkins isn't the fighter he was, but he can still avoid getting hit cleanly as evidenced by his last fight.

It seems that this is the right answer ... American superstar by definition is not ducking anybody, no matter who he fights and who he isn't

Joe is the one who doesn't want to fight. If Pavlik looks better against Hopkins than Calzaghe did, there will be even more pressure on Joe to take the fight with Kelly.

i wont jc against kp after jc fights jones. seriously how can joe think that a win over an old jones who has been ko'd twice is of sufficient ending to his career? jones beat tito yeah but he was a retired blown up tito, even hopkins managed to ko tito at a lower weight! this is ridiculous joe!! beat rjj and then fight kp adn beat him, then you will go down as one of the best ever!

I think retiring undefeated and making money are his 2 main objectives right now, you can't blame him, he deserves it, although I really would like him to fight Pavlik.

the thing about him wanting to fight RJJ is that he has tried before to fight him and RJJ was not interested.Even RJJ admitted that himself.

I do genuinely believe (and i know im going to bget pelters) he wants to fight RJJ more than pavlick;not because he is scared/or he knows that he will give him more of afight . i think he wants to fight him as he has always wanted this fight.

i think regardless of his age cALZAGHE WANtS THis fight, and he has wanted i t for the last few years.im sure he mentioned it in his book .

its no secret he had signed a deal to fight hopkins only for hopkins to demand more money.there are certain things that are out of his control ,but im sure you all are aware of it.

Why on Earth would Pavlik fight Hopkins? What could he gain from that? Hopkins has no belts and makes even great fighters look bad.

Nobody wants to see hopkins fight anybody anymore, atleast shot RJJ has his own fans...

Fact is Calzaghe - Jones doesnt prove anything, and Hopkins - Pavlik is a waste of time which could jepordise one of the biggest fights of the year.

What if hopkins picks his way to a tight boring decision win, the Calzaghe - Pavlik spectacle would be dead in the water, and even if Kelly does win he'll probably look bad doing it and take ages to recover from the headbutts.

Lets just have Calzaghe - Pavlik at 168 for the linear 168lb championship.

    Calzaghe UD Pavlik :deal

I disagree with your conclusion, but the rest of it is right on the money!
