Yes. Often if the title is not on the line and the champion loses, the belt is vacated. This is how the sanctioning bodies usually work.

Typically they would only vacate the title if the fight was at the weight class of the title in question. If you go up in weight and lose, most times you will not be stripped. Unless of course you ignored a mandatory or something to do the fight, but that is not the case here.....

only if fight takes place below the oficial weight limit will this happen.

example: a non title fight that both fighters weigh in under or at the limit for any weight class, should the champion lose the title should be vacated.

otherwise it is simply a fight with nothing on the line.

No...and for christsakes learn to ****ing spell already...Again No for the reason that Pavlik actually worked his way to the title beating top contenders earning his mandatory shot..He wasnt just picked out of a hat to fight Taylor. So if he does lose he would still have roughly 4 or 5 months to complete his mandatory as stipulated by the sanctioning bodies he holds a belt with:deal

Nope. No belts on the line.
The fighters would be required to make the weight divisions actual weight for belts to be on the line.

How can he lose the titles when it's not even on the line? He won't be stripped unless he stays in he higher weight . . . it's not even a legitimate weight class. :D

What he'll lose is some luster in his stature . . . because he'll no longer be undefeated if he loses.
