Should he surpass Calzaghe in the p4p list?
If your answer is no..explain why

Most definately. Calzaghe didn't even beat Hopkins according to many fans worldwide, members of the boxing community, as well as members of the media.

If Calzaghe had actually beaten Hopkins this might be different.

NO . . . bottom line . . . Pavlik needs to fight Calzaghe. If Calzaghe refuses . . . then he should retire and everybody behind him in the p4p list goes up one notch.

I dont get it...p4p has nothing to do with fighting each other...

The bottom line seems to be that if Pavlik beats Hopkins more impressively than Joe..added to the fact that in the last couple of years Pavlik has beaten better competition than Joe..surely he has surpassed Joe in the p4p list..You cant put Pavlik behind Joe in any list...

This could be two things..either Joe shouldnt be that high..or Kelly is really that good and deserving of p4p elite status

A while ago, Joe got absolutely NO credit for beating an old and washed up HOP.

Now Pavlik´s gonna milk the same cow...and use that for P4P list climbing ?

If Pavlik destroys him than yes. If a narrow decision than no, Calzaghes long list of half decent opponents gives him a narrow edge.

I saw the title, read the posts and I still don´t agree.

Would love for the two of them to fight, though !

If Pavlik beats BHOP impressively and BHOP fights well...Then yes, he should be p4p #1 IMO (unless pacman beats oscar)

p4p 1 for beating hopkins who is coming off a loss  is 43 years old and is 2-3 in his last 5 fights :patsch

    ****ing terrible post mate

Right pavlik has a win over gate keeper miranda 2 wins against hype job taylor (who was getting embarrassed by cory spinks) and Lockett who is **** to be honest.

You wanna make him p4p 1 on that :yep

Has Bernard Hopkins ever been dominated in a fight? No. Is Bernard Hopkins a living legend ATG? Yes. Can Hopkins legimately claim that he won every fight besides vs Roy Jones Jr.? Yes.

If Kelly Pavlik beats hopkins convincingly and hopkins still looks good (not shot), I would put pavlik top 2 p4p.

    Good point!

Passing someone on the ranking by beating an opponent that the other guy already beat doesn´t sound right.
