I've expressed my opinion without equivocation. Now I'm asking others for their opinion.

    A lot from me.

Given that I'm on record as saying that I think Pavlik isn't the same anymore and that Martinez is underrated..... and have also picked Martinez by stoppage.

If he beats Martinez then Williams I'll be a fan.

Id say its an impressive win and bring on williams.

I must disagree with all this talk of moving up, if a fighter is comfortable in his own division, meaning hes not outgrowing it, and he wants to make his legacy that of keeping it on lockdown and having title defences, then fair play to him. not every fighter has to move up in weight because every other guy does it.... If he wants to own a division, then good for him. 168 is packed enough as it is, and if he doesnt feel that that is the weight for him, then so be it.

That being said ya it probably would bog his career a bit.... but i wouldnt blame him for sticking at middleweight and do his thing, weight jumping is not for everyone. He still has williams, sturm (ya right) and winky to fight at middle if he wanted.

Also, most everyone says how this is gonna be a tough fight and this n that, but im pretty sure Pavlik will recieve little credit for beating Martinez, even though EVERY great middleweight has taken on big challenges from lower weightclasses, its simply part of the sport.

There all bad but Anglo he thinks prime vs prime Calzaghe would beat Holyfield at Heavyweight. Back to the subject though if Pavlik beats Martinez I will give him credit Martinez is a pretty slick and fast dude. The haters will not and say things like Pavlik beat a blown up whatever and continue the tireless debate of discrediting every win a fighter they didn't like gets and continue the tiring cycle instead of just saying the best man won like they used to till the internet came along.

    Yeah I agree.

They can't have it every way, if he fought Sturm next he'd be accused of ducking Williams.

In any case, it's better to face a top light middle in Williams who has form at middle and looks comfortable..... than a turd at middle or supermiddle for the sake of it.

I'm genuinely not bothered who wins or loses actually... and I'm always willing to eat my crow.

Lots. Obviously, it depends on the manner of the victory: if he scrapes a dubious decision or catches Martinez with one right hand, putting him away while trailing widely on the cards, I won't give him as much credit as I would have if he'd systematically pressured Martinez into folding. But I see this as a very tough fight against a nightmare style for Pavlik. If he wins, it could be his best victory (I know you disagree, boo).

Martinez is quality, but I don't think he's a middleweight. With the size advantage, if Pavlik doesn't win this one without too much trouble, for me it will just make him seem an even more vulnerable champ.

Hahaha, Booradley is at it earlier than expected!

Booradley just recently said Martinez "is a poor dumb *******", a "3 legged chiuaua fighting a prime pit bull", a small fighter who "has never stopped a world class opponent, never scored a decision over a world class opponent, and never fought a legitimate middleweight", adding "this **** won't even be competitive. If Kelly cannot look good against this guy, he is finished as a top level fighter" :deal

All I said to this was
But I underestimated Booradley, he's already at it! So to answer to the quesiton and not go off-topic: I'll definitely give Pavlik more credit than his biggest nutugger (or hater?), Booradley! :yep

How does me saying "he should step up 1 division and fight Bute" turn in to me "hating"!:huh
This is the problem with you Pavlik fans!!! Rather than you seeing the point that not just me but 80% of the boxing community want(check the polls) you turn it into something totally off point!!!
Is it the fact that I mention "PW stepping up in weight" make you not see my point or is it you Pavlik fans(Booradley) wasn't looking for an honest answer!!!

I answered your question on what i'll say and your mad because you were looking for me to praise Pavlik if he beats Martinez!!??:huh

This is what Boo, next time PM me and tell me what you want me to say!!!

P.S. This wasn't about giving Pavlik credit or putting him down it was about him just stepping up 1 division and leave that dead division behind!!!Moron!!!

I will say that Pavlik is a puncher who is fighting a guy from a lower division. He should have won. Martinez is awkward and he might make the fight interesting, but Pavlik should stop him in the midrounds.

I made my opinion well known. Now I'm asking others for their open. I realize that an open mind is against the rules on ESB, but so what.
