No, I think he would have fought Pavlik.

As it is, with Pavlik getting schooled, I dont think it takes that much away from him.

 

I think he would have fought Pavlik but after the complete schooling that Hopkins gave him then there was nobody left after that.

He made a big mistake in facing Jones instead of Pavlik though, I defend Joe a lot on here but he deserves the criticism for not taking that fight. It would certainly have given him more respect especiallly with the Americans and most people could see that stylistically Pavlik would have took a beating off him.

 

In my opinion it does. Joe could have taken the risk against an unbeaten figther and got the credit. Instead he chose the showboating cringefest against a shot fighter.

 

I hate the word "bum", but since the Calzaghe fight this has pretty much been the case.

This thread is null and void as Kelly would have never beaten Bernard in a million years, I could not believe the amount of people backing him back then or even again those who still consider it a shock, what are these 'experts' thinking?
