If Pavlik moves up what happens to WBC and IBF titles

Well I don't recognise the WBO anyway - so it is only the WBC.

I am actually surprised that the WBC allowed a Taylor rematch and now a Hopkins fight without threatening to strip Pavlik to be honest, knowing what they are like.

 

To say there are no superstars is kind of accurate but lets not forget that Kelly has only been one for 5 minutes.
The SMW division may not have the rich history of the MW's but I really don't think that matters. History is nice and what has been, has been but that's where it belongs... in the past. Too many people get hung up with history whilst others choose to make it.
Fighters have to move up and down to make the biggest fights and that's the way it's always going to be.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but the word mandatory basically means that something must happen. So whilst it would be nice to have fighters holding belts in multiple divisions and raising their stock with championship fights along side fellow superstars, these mandatory contenders are left to languish in contender status thus ruining the potential for many of them to acheive said superstar status.
A case in point for many years would have been Margarito or even Calzaghe (outside of europe of course )and currently the likes of Froch. Margarito as we all know is a major player on the world stage, Calzaghe has begun to break America and Froch has finally landed a title shot. I for one cannot help but feel that whilst their respective acheivements are deserved that it is disappointing to think that neither has many miles left on the clock.
So whilst it is nice to have a couple of superstars per division, lots of people go relatively un noticed and therefore cause the general viewing public to miss out on so much.
These are just three examples and i know there are many more (probably better ones at that).

if Pav did lose, everyone would be too busy praising Hopkins to notice that Pavlik got beat , obviously it would be a good thing career wise for Pav but it wouldnt be that big a deal long term
