Would he be considered one of the greatest?

I'm no big PBF fan but I do admire his unquestionable ability, so if he beats both Shane and Pac, (which he is very capable of doing) where would he rank amongst the G.O.A.T

It would certainly make him the greatest of this generation, I don't like to compare generations that have gone before really as I think it doesn't make much sense. It's just opinion and conjecture.

But that would be some feat to beat both Shane and Pac man and even more so back to back!

AT LEAST as the best boxer since Whitaker, if he adds someone like Williams to that list then possibly the best since Leonard, difficult to tell, will depend on how it all goes down but it will do him no harm whatsoever to have those names on his record.

IMO, his agenda should be Mosely,Pac, Williams, Pavlik, retirement.... why not ?... you gotta reach for the stars with that sort of ability.

I believe so. He will have finally proved he can take on the best WW with Mosley making himself legitimate ruler of another weight division. Beating Pacquiao proves beyond any resonable doubt that he is the best of our era.

Personally though I think Mosley beats Mayweather and Pacquiao refuses to fight Mosley. But let's see.

He'd be the MAN at WW. As far as rankings they're too debatable so I won't try to.

Very high and if he won convincingly id put him in the top 10. Also depends if Mosley isnt past it or not, Mayweather beats the one who lost toCotto by convincing decison. If the Mosley that fought Margarito shows up i think Mayweather gets ktfod!!

I think Pavlik's too big an ask there, I know he fought DLH at Light middle but he weighed in considerably under the Light Middle limit. Don't think he could do himself justice.

I think all the other names are reasonable enough and no doubt that he'd beat them.

He needs at least three fights against opponents that have a reasonable chance of beating him before I'd start putting him in the spot of 'the greatest' for this generation. If he beats Mosley, Pac and one other (Williams?) then yeah; I think even his most fierce critics would have to give him his due in that circumstance.

Ofcourse he would, Pavlik would be an easier fight than Pac or Williams.

Even if he lost, he`d get ATG props for trying because of the size difference & at the end of the day you cant erase what he did before - which in this case is beat Mosely, Pacquiao & Williams... his place in history is already secure, Pavlik is just a reach for the stars attempt to join the Robinson`s of boxing, losing wont dent his legacy IMO.

Yeah right, because Floyd uses his face as punchbag, just like marg?

Come on now, It was a great performance to beat marg, but floyd will take less than a quater of the punches that marg did. You have to land to hurt, and he wont land enough.

It will be a chess match, not a brawl. Every time Shane tries to turn it into a brawl PBF will withdraw.

I predict shane will get schooled for 12 rounds, and will have a few moments, but by round 9 will know he has lost and loose the fight mentally.

I'd say he'd be top 20 all-time...He has already beaten 12 world champion and 4-5 HOF'ers so with them it puts him over the hump. He'd be below the Leonard's and Durans' of the world but higher than say Arguello and Chavez. Consider the amount of titles won, hall of famers defeated, and an undefeated record he would have to be recognized as one of the best ever

These guys have accomplished far more than Ali did so why shouldn't they be considered 'one of the greatest'?
