If Floyd challenges Sergio at 155 for the MW belt and defeats Sergio. . .would he undeniably have surpassed Pacquiao in every conceivable category, resume and legacy-wise?

    I think yes.

yes, but I think he should host the fight at 157 if he wants the MW title

I'm not a fan of catchweights for belts, but if you're going to do it, the catch shouldn't be closer to the starting limit of the weight class, which is 154 in this case

Not a fan of catchweights either and I hope it's not a catch weight... if anything, the higher the weight, more credit to Mayweather.

I don't and wont agree with the catchweight but it won't shock me that *******s will hate on it, despite Pacquaios best win since he moved past 130 is Cotto at a catch weight.

it WOULD BE a 6th weight class defeating the lineal champ ,

Pac already did that he laid out the ring champ hatton in his 6th weight (note 6th weight to win a title, ,he hoped about 10 altogether)

    nearly killed the guy

    No

And unless he beats Pacquiao he never will , Pacquiao was a Flyweight who is now walking down WW's & JrMW's on the way to dominant stoppages

Floyd is not , granted , Mayweather does put on clinical displays of boxing / timing / accuracy / defensive work etc etc etc but for me , what Pacquiao is achieving , is more impressive than what Floyd is achieving

    Yes.

Right now Floyd's career is awefully sugarcoated... but fighting Sergio within the next 12 months (be Aussie Sergio is getting old) is key to Floyd's legacy.

A 157-158 catchweight would get full credit.

No disrespect to Hatton but Maravilla is a level above him as a fighter.

Fight him at the limit. Forget a catchweight. I don't know. He could have a case. Probably not though. He would be number 1 P4P.

I'm not sure Sergio holds any JRMW belt right now. I think since what Armstrong did back in the day you are simply not allowed to hold belts in diff weight classes at the same time.

Pacquaio may have scaled all those weight classes while adding muscle, but he wouldn't have given up as much size as Floyd would be doing against Martinez at MW, plus Martinez is better than the bigger guys Pac has been facing, so yes by a distance
