If PBF defeated Cotto in impressive fashion, who else should fight before he retires?

This is probably the biggest reason why PBF doesnt want to fight Cotto just yet.

He wants Cotto to clean out the division for him, fight him,win and call it a career.

Delahoya Tito was bigger. That was really a pick'm fight. floyd would go into this fight a pretty heavy betting fave. And it would be somewhat of an upset could Cotto win.

As far as who he should fight after beatting Cotto...If he fights on he should fight who ever he wants to fight. problem is it would be like Lewis walking away after beatting VK. The haters will claim that he ran into retirement to avoid fighting his toughest guy...Whoever that would be at that time.

Why shouldnt he feel that way? He already beat the lineal champ in Baldomir, the previous undisputed champ in Judah, and the former WBA and current 140 champ since he has been the champ. Cotto needs Mayweather alot more than he needs Cotto. Mayweather has been a champ at 5 weights, lineal at 3 weights, beaten 13 world champions.....Cotto has alot more to proof.

Yea, Mayweather would be the betting favorite and he should be....Although I do agree fans and critics will say exactly what you said if he retired immediately afterwards

I doubt it, Calzaghe is all wrong for Popkins. Calzaghe is too busy and too fast with his hands and his feet and tough to boot. Hopkins will have his hands more than Full with the Welsh Dragon and will end his career with a lose...mark my words

Mayweather would be able to retire in peace in my opinion. This is coming from a huge Cotto fan.

I'm sure a lot of Floyd haters who want him to lose badly will say he needs to fight someone else though.

Nothing more would be needed. He would have a secure legacy. His critics would have no legitimate complaints.
