Peter wont get much credit, but a decent name on his resume, which helps. I think Peter will beat Vitali, but a few rounds might be tough for him. I think Vitali's strong chin is now rusted out, being laid out by guys like Travis Walker in sparring dont help much either, Peter will catch him with something big and get the fight stopped by the 6th or 7th round, Vitali hasnt been in the ring against a live oppenent since Nov or Dec of 04, Peter got extremely heavy hands, he wont treat Vitali gently.

Vit Klit has some serious rust on him, to be sure... but Peter is one of the dumbest HW champions ever. Vitali should fight a really smart fight and wear down the overweight Peter while conserving himself, and then lay a mid to late rounds beatdown on Sammy. Once Peter gets gassed, he doesn't do ****.

That can happen, but too be honest, I feel Peter will shock some people when he lays Vitali out somewhere around the 6th round, I wouldnt be surprised if it happens even earlier in the fight. Vitali will not be the same fighter come October, that I promise you.

i am as big a wlad fanboy as there is on here but vitali was a beast. he never had wlad's athleticism and physical skills but his intangibles were abundant. to me, he became a different fighter after the byrd quit job. he fought with fire and bad intentions everytime. sometimes wlad lacks that in the ring.

however, wlad has a much better resume especially in terms of depth and has a chance to create a very nice legacy.

but let's face it, wlad's chin has been exposed more than paris hilton's ***** as a certain poster would say...ahahahahah :yep

i already give peter alot of credit. he's my #2 though not by much. i put peter, chagaev, valuev, povetkin, and iggy pretty close together. peter fought wlad in a very physical and tough fight and even though he lost, that's better than any other WINS the other guys have.

Now with regards to Peter-Vitali, i feel vitali would not come back unless he is physically and mentally ready. i have a lot of respect for his intelligence. on the off chance this fight takes place and peter wins, i'll will give him a shitload of credit and he will have his mandate to a rematch with wlad. he would become the undisputed #2 guy and wlad-peter II becomes a mega fight.

i really believe peter is ready to be knocked out though. i just dont like his poor training and declining physical condition inside the ring. but i'd have to admit i was wrong if he upsets vitali. i still say vitali is a nightmare stylistically for peter. vitali loves guys who charge in and attack. most people dont mention it, but lewis got hammered anytime he lunged in and tried to get inside. his success mostly came from distance like when he opened up that cut. i feel vitali would have given prime tyson and foreman all they could handle due to their aggressive styles.

I will give him credit if he beats vitali Even if Vitali is shot (out of shape and ring rust) Peter will have to fight a good fight to beat him. I mean Vitali is experienced and smart, this would be agreat win for Peter. that doesn't mean that I would pick him over Vlad or Povetkin though. I think that Povetkin will keep getting better He is not ready for Vlad now.

If Peter swarms Vitali and forces him to backpedal like he did Vlad he has a chance( providing that he doesn't get beat up on the way in) If Haye steps in the ring with either one of them he will have to box for his life.

Vitali at 100% is a clear superior fighter than Peter. IMO, Vitali at 80% is still a little better than Peter, right now I mean, bc I think we still haven't seen the best of Peter.

Well, Vitali at 75% should make a very competitive leveled open fight with Peter and I'm expeting this Vitali to show up.

Just to put things into perspective, I think a 75% Vitali is top-5 HW today.

Anyway, any victory of Peter over Vitali will be quite impressive.

It has been an eternity since Vitali fought, so you may be right. IF, and that is a big if, Vitali can come in healthy and at 80% of his peak, he wins by administering a brutal beating to Peter a la the Danny Williams fight. If he comes in rusty and shot, Peter will catch him and end the fight by TKO.

I'm rooting for the old guy. I think it would be good for boxing if he can get it done... but I'm not putting any money on it.

If Vitali comes in at even 75 %, he will beat Peter.

He has already beaten better fighters than Peter.

If Peter wins, will I give him respect?

    Definitely.

There should be no excuses if the fight actually happens.

    Seriously.

What kind of credit should he get for that?

I'll give him credit for wiping out the farce that is "Emeritus" status and adding another name...but I'm not gonna bow to him for beating an injury plagued inactive faded fighter.

If you wish to then hey, go right ahead.

Sam Peter is no Danny Williams, he not only can take a better punch, but can give a bigger one as well. I'm not saying Peter is going to have an easy night by no means, Vitali is tough fighter, it will take alot of pressure and overhand rights to put him down, but Vitali will go down.

It will be nearly 4 years since Vitali has stepped in the ring, when the fight happens. That's a long time away from the game, and with all the injuries he has experienced over the last couple years, his age is starting to show. The younger Peter will win the slugfest, as I already told a few klit fans, this fight will be what the people want to see in the Heavyweight division, two men going toe to toe, looking for the knockout, I just hope the fight takes place.
