Kirk Johnson, Herbie Hide, Corrie Sanders & Danny Williams are his best wins although he has some other noteable ones as well.

Vitali & Wladimir have never tested positive for steriods since either turned pro. Unlike James Toney who was dumb enough to test positive twice.

Vitali has a 91.8% KO percentage.

At one point, Butterbean was 62-1-3, and was never behind on the scorecards after 3 rounds.

Faruq Saleem is has a better win-loss ratio than Vitali - still undefeated after 37 fights.

Chris Arreola is undefeated with a 91.3& KO percentage, and as fas as I know has never been down from a punch or behind after 3.

Bermaine Stiverne has a 93.3% KO percentage.

Solomon Haumono is undefeated with 100% KO percentage.

David Rodriguez has a 93% KO percentage.

I could go on with all of the fighters out there that are undefeated with with 100% KO percentages. There are plenty.

What does this tell us? THAT STATS ARE MEANINGLESS UNLESS YOU TAKE QUALITY OF OPPOSITION INTO CONSIDERATION.

Vitali was a beast against journeymen. He stepped up to the elite twice, and lost twice by stoppage. Whatever the circumstances, they are the facts. Truly great fighters find a way to win when faced with injuries/adversity. Vitali found a way to lose.

I'm not one of those who's pulling down Peter . . . if the guy beats Vitali then the haters will put out the excuse that Vitali came from a long lay off. :yep

I'm not a Peter hater, and look at my posts to get my opinion about Vitali :yep
.... yet even I would point to Vitali's age and lay-off if Peter won.

It's not about being a hater or not, it's just a fact.

I've come back after a few long layoffs.
In sparring i was able to pull off some "advanced" stuff, but my basics had slipped.
I think that's a big reason guys never really seem the same after long layoffs.
They forget to put in that groundwork on the basics that all fighters do the first time around.

I used to be a fan of Peter and his big punch.
Then I was dropped by a rabbit punch from a newbie who could barely move a focus mitt, and I realized the base of the skull is no joke, especially from a hammerfist.

This match, for me, comes down to 2 questions:
Does Vitali do his homework in making the come back?
    Will Peter rabbit punch?

If Vitali looks sharp and Peter gets a clean KO, I see Peter getting credit.
If Peter scores a rabbit punch KO on a faded Vitali, no credit whatsoever.
If Vitali drops Peter, I think it'll do a lot for his legacy.
If it goes the distance, I think Peter will probably get some credit.

Peter does not rabbit punch on purpose even manny steward said that. Alot of times the opponent turns there head when peter is punching or bend down,, it's a product accident. If Peter truly wanted to rabbit punch he would KO every one he faced that way.

No respect not on this forum anyways, even when he knocks out Wlad in the rematch there will be nothing more than excuses, whats funny is I get the feeling that when Peter beats Vitali and Vitali crys for a rematch and Peter doesnt give it to him people here will then say Peter fears Vitali blah blah blah

The rabbit punch I mentioned earlier was a frustrated noob who turned a hook into a hammer punch when i was using head movement. I've also had elbows dropped on my skull bobbing under punches as well. Thinking this is not on purpose or an illegal tactic is a mistake.

I think you need to rewatch this fight if you don't think he targets the back of the head.
Once peters misses the cross about 40 seconds in, he goes on a back-of-the-skull hunting spree; often using palms and hammer fists to hit illegally.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haiNvJq_nnM

I'm amazed he didn't lose a single point or even warrant a single warning in that round.

Wlad won the first fight. It was a very hard and tough fight. Wlad did not talk about rabbit punches etc. he fighted and won but get no respect.

I hope Peter and Wlad fight again and Vitali stay retired. This is the fight boxing fans wanted to see. The winner of this fight is the heavyweight Champion. And it will be Wladimir Klitschko.

And you're blind if you don't see him aim for the back of the head no less than 4 times between 0:50 and 1:00, then another 3 times between 1:08 and 1:11.
Palming with the un-padded portion of the glove is not the same as pawing.
He paws once at the beginning, misses a big cross or two and then starts gunning for the back of the skull.
If you can't see that, your nuthugging must run deep...

I wanted Peter to be the savior of the heavyweight division till I saw the Wlad fight.
Gave him some credit after the Toney fights and then he flushed it down the toilet with the Maskaev fight.

If the guy takes out Vitali clean, I'll give him all the credit in the world, but if he gets another stoppage or puts another guy in bad position from illegal technique & incompetent reffing then I'm still not buying into the hype.
