I think the boxing community at large understands this. You don't have to "believe this," as its not like believing in ghosts or aliens. We have video evidence that Solis was hit in the head, wobbled, knocked down, and, on his way up or on his way down, suffered some sort of knee injury. It's what happened. Period. If his knee ruptured on the way down, it was a result of Vitali's punch. If it ruptured on the way up, it was a result of Solis weighing 5,000 pounds on fight night AFTER he removed his golden Sponge Bob medalion.

 

What would help more is if they knew how to box! if they were half any good than the Bros would have a pretty good legacy. However, they are what they are, mediocre champs in an extremely weak era . . . get over it!

For starters, none of those guys could possibly be described as "great" - that's just ****ing ridiculous. If they were American, I'm sure the fights would've created more interest - as I recall, Vitali-Arreola did pretty good ratings on HBO.

I'm not sure why Vitali isn't more popular. He always throws a lot of punches and tries to put a beating on his opponent. I enjoy watching him anyway.

Wlad though, is a different story. Consistently beating smaller, inferior men in fights which are, on the most part, interminably boring, is never going to appeal to the masses, regardless of the opponents nationality.

It's not their fault we live in a dreadful Heavyweight era but at least when Vitali fights opponentd who are no match for him, he uses his physical advantages to beat the **** out of them.

He's obviously popular in Germany, the Ukraine and some other places but he's never going to appeal to casual fans in America, Britain or wherever. Most fans just like to watch exciting fights/fighters and you just don't get that with Wlad, post-Brewster I.

 

US boxing audience is predominantly low-income blacks and latinos. The only appeal they are going to have for the rich, successful, educated white boy from Soviet Russia is watching him get KTFOed.
