If Peter got a better trainer do you think he would finally learn something and become a better fighter or is this guy just unteachable. I use to be a big fan of Peter but after almost 5 years now I have come to the conclusion that he SUCKS. It seems like this guy just dosent learn anything, You would think after his fight with Wlad he would learn to take a different approach when he fights taller fighters.....but no, he still does not have a clue what he should be doing. It is also very frusturating to see that he still does not even know how to properly throw a punch, He has great power, but when he stepped up his competition that bull**** style of swinging wild wide punches doesnt work any more. he also has not improved his defense one bit, when McCline had him out on his feet Peter was still just standing right in front of him with his hands down, chin out, and swinging wide punches. So my question is: Do you think some one like Steward or Roach can help peter out to be any better, or is Peter just unable to learn anything what so ever? Like I said, I use to be a big fan of his....but his lack of improving has just gotten to me.
He still gets beat by either Klitschko, and Chagaev He would probably stand a great shot against Areola,brewster, and most other contendors
Yes,your conclusion is good....he truly is garbage at an elite level. No trainer in the world would make him better cuz he simply is a lazy fighter if he comes in in that type of shape for his biggest fight.But to be honest keeping that bum McKinley in the corner isn't helping either.
I agree. I think Peter has just not got enough talent, athleticizm, or skill to be a fast moving, sharp, accurate, straight puncher with good body, waiste movement and quick reflexes. Its just not there. But he is what he is; a pretty hard punching guy with a stout body, an aggressive style, and a pretty good punch tolerance. And as he is, I think he's enough to beat all but the top five or six heavies currently fighting. I think Ibrag may beat him, Chag, too, and both brothers, obviously. Valuev and Povetkin, maybe............ All the rest, Peter beats pretty convincingly. Peter would absolutely embarrass Arreola.
Arreola is the best option for Peter right now..Very winnable fight for him.. For some reason i can see him beating Iggy...
I can also see him beating Iggy as long as he fights smart, but this is where his lack of skills come into play. Wlad and Vitali are a nightmare because of the height, but iggy and Chagaev are not too tall, if Peter came in shape and actually fought smart he would win, but chances are he would come in completley overweight and just fight very stupid. He still seems to think very highly of his power....Yes it is there, but it's no good if he dosent know how to throw a proper punch. iggy and Chagaev are skilled enough to see wide looping telegraphed hayemakers.
I just hope Peters oponents dont have glass "back of heads" or they might lose.. He doesnt need add'l training on rabbit punching per he seems to have mastered that art very well
