If Peterson or Bradley don't want to face Khan should he move to 147??

With Bradley and Peterson both holding out for big money fights, is the time right for Khan to move upto 147?

Amir Khan vs Vyacheslav Senchenko WBA 147 title could be a good debut fight at the weight for a title.

Might as well cos nothing else at 140 atm, Winning a title against Senchenko's cool but doesn't warrant much else them putting another stat to record '2 weight world champ', WBA Champion.

The welterweight guys really don't seem to be fussed about belts so Khan shouldn't be either. Just fight logical and meaningful fights..

    No.

Forget the 147 jump - which was motivated purely for money (Mayweather fight). It's pretty clear now that he no longer deserves that opportunity, and he doesn’t yet belong with guys that would throw him around like a ragdoll.

Stick around at 140. If he can’t get Peterson immediately next, then he can get him after fighting someone like Matthysse, Guerrero, or ****, even Prescott. He’s in no rush to jump. He still makes 140 pretty easily it seems. He should allow himself to naturally grow into 147. Not force himself up.

I agree with Rico on the point there are still some good fights at 140 for Khan, I like Khan vs Matthysse that would be a great match up.

But I do question Khan's making 140 easy, I think it's getting harder for him to make weight, in recent fights Khan has shown signs of gasing in early rounds, and lacking power, could moving to 147 help these issues.

I know looks can be deceiving, but, he looked really healthy and in good spirits at the Peterson weigh-in. He also only rehydrated back up 149 on fight night (compared to Peterson’s 155). That’s something he’s been consistently doing since he became a junior welterweight, because a year ago against Maidana he was exactly the same. He’s also said quite a few times in the past that he makes weight fine. I admit he’s also said he’s struggling, but, he contradicts himself so much, it’s hard to know exactly what opinion he is of.

As for him tiring and losing snap in punches, that’s just because of the way he fights. Look back at his very first 140 bout against Kotelnik. His shots didn’t have much in them then, either. He was also tiring late on when Kotelnik stepped on the gas. That's becasue he wastes too much energy on running and throwing a gazillion punches when he’s in trouble. Nothing to do with weight.

    Good points.

Khan does need to use his energy and workrate more effectively, he really needs settle down.
