Yeah, it would make it interesting :think. But like the other have stated, the fight should still happen regardless. There are many great possible match-ups in this 126 division.

Nope you are right he has the better chin. PDL however i feel has the better technique now. Which is odd to say as he was probably the most crude at the time he was a champion.

Salido has always been underrated due to him following the typical Mexican way of fighting which is being thrown to the wolves at a very young age. His only real losses are to JMM and Gamboa. The rest were when he was young. Oh and to Cristobal Cruz but he avenged that.

Salido is a very good champion, and if Lopez wants Gamboa, I believe he'll have to beat Salido first. A superfight has to earn its status, and I believe that if Lopez can make the right technical corrections to his game and get redemption (as well as Gamboa, were he to lose) then the fight would be that much more enticing.

bob arum waited, and waited for the lopez-gamboa fight, and now it's been messed up by salido beating lopez.
if lopez can beat salido in a rematch, i still think lopez-gamboa can be a massive fight.
even if lopez can't beat salido, (which is possable), still get him in with gamboa anyway.
its just too good a fight to not happen.

I'd still like to see Gamboa/Lopez. Its a good style fight, Gamboa is sloppy and reckless at times which would make for an excting fight against a guywho canbang like lopez.

If Ponce De Leon wins convincingly, I might just get a chest tattoo of the rat-tailed beaut (a'la Valero's of Hugo Chavez). :yep

Yeah, if Gamboa is humbled back down to earth it sets the table for a very appetizing double-feature:

Daniel Ponce De Leon vs. Orlando Salido, 12 rounds for the WBO title

Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Juan Manuel Lopez, 12 round eliminator to be next in line to challenge the winner ^

So the only way you guyswould be interested in Gamboa/Lopez is if Gamboa LOST? What if Lopez beats Salido in their rematch? You still wouldn;t want it if Gamboa beats PDL?

Lopez blew out PDL a while back.

Juanma and Gamboa are still the main draw

Salido and PDL are a step below. After Gamboa destroys him Juanma will need to be convincing and they need to make that matchup.

**** that. The champion is the headliner. :deal Gamboa vs. Lopez (in this scenario where Gamboa loses tomorrow to Ponce De Leon) would have to be the supporting bout for the Salido vs. Ponce De Leon main event.

It's a very slim chance (maybe slimmer than Adamek has against Klitschko) but Ponce can crack a little and we know Gamboa goes down like an aspiring actress at a producer's office. It's not out of the question that we see a quick knockdown early on. The question then becomes whether Ponce can crack him hard enough to keep him down (or finish him if he gets up). The longer it goes, the less chance there is of us seeing any drama like that. Gamboa is so much faster, it isn't even funny. After about the third round, the only person getting knocked out is DPDL. Gamboa is very well conditioned and has remarkable stamina in the long haul for someone who uses so much athleticism.

DPDL needs to burst out of the gate aggressive and pray he lands something lucky. That might be his best and only chance.

i think its gonna be exciting but i think he will get caught like he did vs juanma. Gamboa has so much speed , The deeper it goes in the fight the better for PDL but he has to crack gamboa early and often. Cant wait.
