Maybe the Valuev fight is a mismatch but I would like to see it for a few reasons

1 I think Wladimir can't jab and grab like he usually does because Valuev is to heavy
2 Valuev has longer arms so maybe Wladimirs Jab won't be as sucessfull as usually
3 I want to see if anyone in HW is able to KO the giant

Valuev was almost beat by ****ing Evander Holyfield.

Add two years of inactivity. Wlad would destroy him.

Seventies Foreman's fro was one more shove away from popping out instantaneously in an electric fury of rage and impaling Atlas in front of the world; tiny, little hair impalements. And I think Atlas, the crazy ****er he is, knew it was going to happen eventually and was after that all along. I can't believe Teddy is still alive after all these years. :conf...Or Lalonde.

Agreed Wladimir ought to give the Povetkin-Chagaev winner the opportunity to be his next opponent.

However I think the winner of Pov-Chag sits on the belt for a few fights. Defenses against the likes of Mormeck, Boystov, Holyfield etc. If the new paper champ can put together a decent run then that sets up a good payday against a Klit later.

The Haye rematch is the best fight out there for Wlad. The list of alternatives are so bleh that it might as well be Arreola, since Gomez or Boystov or Helenius haven't proven they are better at this stage. The only other name that's vaguely intriguing against Wladimir is Tony Thompson.

Sounds like Wlad - Arreola is one realistic possibility for a voluntary defense in December. Maybe Arreola will try to get one more fight in before that happens. I don't see much else on the horizon. Rematch with Haye likely won't happen this year, if ever. Povetkin/Chagaev won't fight Wlad anytime soon neither.. whoever wins the WBA regular belt will try to milk it and not throw it in the bin by fighting Wlad.

Dimitrenko/Helenius won't fight Wlad neither anytime soon. Maybe.. if we're lucky.. they'll fight eachother in 2012.

Chambers and Thompson is allegedly scheduled for August 2011 for the IBF mandatory.

I am not sure if the IBF considers unification matches as fulfilling a mandatory obligation. The last regular IBF mandatory was Sam Peter in 09/2010. Either way the Chambers/Thompson winner will get his shot in 2012.

Was this before or after Foreman won??

I know that Wlad wants to fight before the year is out, so you could probably rule out the winner of Chagaev/Povtekin match. Leaving Arreola, the fan favorite and entertaining style, to be the leading candidate. Epically with his marketability in the USA and recent run of victory's.

I think Boystov, Hellinous/Liachovic need some more exposure in the States.

As for the IBF eliminator between Chamber/Thompson I can wait. Both guys being decent fighters, Chambers more so IMO. But I just can't see the result changing from the first fights

As a fan, I hope Arreola takes an interim fight to give it time for a new challenger to emerge. There's a couple other guys that might emerge as more suitable opponents for Klitschko.

Hopefully Chambers/Thompson will happen sooner rather than later, cause I'd rather see the winner of that get another shot than Arreola. I'm a fan of Arreola but I see Wlad destroying him and getting flayed afterwards for being too tentative while doing so. On paper it's a mismatch, unless Arreola proves he's worthy via an eliminator match.

But that said, money talks. Arreola offers the opportunity for a US and HBO fight. And surely it's a great opportunity for Arreola to set himself up for life. I hope Arreola is capable of taking his beating and still gives us fans some good fights afterwards.

Agree. Povektin is a solid fighter. Not good enough to beat Wlad but nobody is.

Let us not forget that Povetkin recently said he's tired of waiting for Wlad (he's the one whos not been wanting the fight) and that he's ready.

Let's hope he and his team mean it this time and takes the Wlad fight, if he (Povetkin) beats Chagaev.

Absolutely. The winner of Chag vs Pov is the best possible fight for Wlad at this moment.
