In SkySports website, Povetkin's manager stated that

. Since Whyte is the no. 1 contender against Joshua, does it mean he will lose his mandatory position to Povetkin if he loses to him?

It would be awkward to see Povetkin face Joshua again so soon after his defeat. As far as I'm concerned, Povetkin would wipe the floor with Whyte. We all saw how miserable Whyte was against Parker. Unfortunately, Whyte doesn't know how to defence himself, and likes brawling. Povetkin has a very strong chin, since Whyte doesn't have the punching power of AJ, brawling against Povetkin will be his demise.

Actually, I would feel bad if Whyte loses his mandatory position. Poor lad desperately wants to fight AJ again. AJ would easily demolish him though. Since their last bout, AJ got smarter, stronger and wiser. Whyte on the other hand isn't as smart as AJ. For the sake of his own health, I think Whyte should stop chasing AJ, Wilder & Fury, and should compete for titles such as intercontinental or silver heavyweight titles. There is no way that he can defeat those 3 heavyweight boxing giants. The only thing he would obtain would be heavy brain damage from the punches he takes to his head.

Of course he’d get another shot! He’ll be 41 by that time! Lol When he was 34-36 nobody wanted to even say his name.

Whyte doesn’t want any part of Usyk.

Whyte doesn't hold a mandatory position for any belts. The WBO may well make him mandatory at some point in the future, unless they have already and I've missed it.

EDIT: I don't think they will, as (if my understanding is correct) Usyk can force himself as WBO mandatory if he chooses to given he has the belt from the weight below.

Of course! He would become mandatory, right?!
Not that being mandatory means much with the WBC, but he would also be mando for at least one of Joshua's belts.

edit: @PaddyGarcia says he wouldn't be... don't know

Yeah instead he wanted AJ, Wilder and already fought Parker.

    Give me a break.

Switch your brain on before you type.

Yeah Uysk has that option, doesn't mean he will use it.

It is less likely he will, and more likely Whyte becomes mando.

Yup, so as I understand it, Usyk can make himself mando with WBO just by saying that's what he wants. Otherwise it's likely they'll elect Whyte as their mando...but that's only IF they decide to call one.
WBC is up in the air, I suspect we get Whyte-Dominic B to settle that
IBF is Pulev after a fair list of fighters decided against getting that Bulgarian smoke
WBA...where to even start. Charr you would assume with that poxy regular belt is most likely to be called to 'unify'. Trevor Bryan is actually their number 1 in the rankings, with Whyte down at 4.

So I mean, who knows. I still don't understand why they didn't take the Pulev fight. Winnable and makes him an actual mandatory for AJ. I think the beguiling @Twentyman suggested before that Matchroom never wanted Whyte to be given the shot and if that's the case then that explains that one. In turn they're possibly not just getting AJ-Whyte as a PPV but AJ-Miller and Whyte-whoever, so there's merit to that idea.

Whyte has probably the best CV for all the contenders. The issue is AJ beat him easy andnwill beat him easier next time around.

I also think Povetkin knocks him out if they fight but I like Dillian and hope he wins, can't see it though

Whyte vs povetkin is one hell of a fight

If povetkin has anything left he’ll take whyte out!

Doubt whyte wants that work though

Both men were stopped by AJ in the 7th

    Povetkin was 6 month ago.

Povetkin is washed up and doesn't deserve another crack at Femi. I'd rather see Kuzmin or even Plechko vs Femi.
