i think povetkin has a good skill set, a great amateur career but like you said doesn't have what it takes yet to even be competitive with wlad. with some experience with similar opponents he could learns some tricks but from what i've seen just doesn't have the natural tools needed to win. i wish him the best but i worry for him what happens to every other even semi-promising heavyweight that fights wlad: get ruined. Maybe Povetkin can be like jerry quarry: a fantastic fighter who can always be competitive and beat almost anyone in the top 10 but just fall short of the champ. I don't see this though. I fear that the wlad loss will ruin his career
Valuev the freakshow is scared....he showed that by not taking the fight when offered before chagaev. If Povetkin pulls out then he needs to lose his place in line. Its that simple. Frankly, I do not want to see WK fight him anyway because I think it will be a 1 sided beatdown anyway. WK will outclass him and then he will get bashed for doing so. Povetkin needs to earn some ring warrior stripes with the best he can fight, not named Klitschko. I say that not saying he needs it to deserve a fight, but to get properly prepared and experienced.
I agree and IMO team Povetkin should give up the #1 IBF status and work for the future #1 moves over for #2 IBF contender which is ARREOLA. Maybe that fight needs to be made. Im sure the IBF will force Wlad to fight someone. They want their sanctioning fee:hey
And the thing is, it doesn't have to be this way. It just seems that Alex himself is in such a rush to jump in there with the best. What is the hurry? He's around 30 years old, which is a baby by today's standards.
:goodexactly...and what's the biggest "war" he's been in? the chambers fight. in ring terms he's very fresh
I agree. I think its a mistake. I find it hard to believe that team Povetkin and Atlas ready 100% believe that Povetkin can win. I understand this is HW and 1 punch can change things, but with Wlad fighting the way he is right now and Povetkin where he is (Forget the lucky punch) How do they think they can win?
Who would you like to see Wald fight next? :think Given that I don't think there is anyone at heavy that I think can beat him, I'd love to see him mark down Valueless...... Just for the halibut.....
wlad can and will dictate the pace of any fight he's in. over a long fight, most fighters will get worn and ground down to powder. the lucky few will get taken out by one shot. Povetkin is a solid pressure fighter: a style which will be completely ineffectual after the first round when he realizes he can't reach wlad. A body attack to slow him down won't get past the jab and povetkin doesn't have fast enough hands to can't wlad with counter punches. in the words of lennox: it's OVA
well for very selfish reasons I would like Arreola in Los Angeles. Train near home and get to bring my whole family and friends to the fight:good:good Im the guy that always has to travel the farthest:|:|
actually i think a misplaced bear trap in northern ontario just took out valuev. he was trying to steal some kids picnic basket. they're shaving him now to make sweaters for the province of quebec. the ENTIRE province
I did talk to wlad today. It is being talked about. Time will tell. I think that if Povetkin says NO, The IBF will make Wlad fight #2 and thats Arreola. So it will all come down to what Povetkin says
that'd be awesome and i think arreola has better experience and skills to make a fight out of it:good problem is if i DO come down wlad will have to worry about my wife trying to sneak into his dressing room:silly
