No. He probably have made it to the final bell -- or at least come much closer -- but he would not have been much more likely to win. He was still short three years ago.
Did not see the fight yet. Fightnews says he gassed. And he had excellent late round stamina in his prime
He was catching Joshua at ease in the first couple of rounds... a faster, more powerful Povetkin would have KO him. He visibly gassed and started slowing down in this fight. But the same goes for Wlad... AJ is fortunate that these guys plus David Haye isn't in their prime. Smart, powerful punchers will dismantle the robot.
If joshua landed those punches on any version povetkin its lights out so who knows It was a decisive and devestating victory not a close decision so this kind of debate is just sour grapes
3 years ago Joshua was 14-0. So your asking does a seasoned prime Povetkin beat a young inexperienced prospect.
Well you should watch the fight then because Povetkin's corner stopped the fight because he was seriously hurt, not gassed.
Povetkin was tailor made for the bodybuilder, I said it before. Most older fighters do well for the first 6 rounds anyway. The speed don't go, like that, but the stamina does in the later rounds. He would have always walked onto something. being that aggressive. Joshua has the killer instinct, when he has his opponent hurt, compared to Wlad who's a little more subdue against a big puncher.
