If they stage it in Russia around the World Cup time they can catch all the England fans who are there. Assuming England get knocked out in the quarter finals ... any time after that would be good.

That’s is a absolutely great point, imagine that a World Cup match In the afternoon and a HW title fight in the evening. They should try get it on on the day of the final even.

It would do Joshua's credibility a huge amount of good to go over to Russia a put a beat down on Pov. He's more than capable of doing it. He does need to fight outside UK and this would be a great (if risky) opportunity.

Ryabinsky made a post in twitter recently that he won the decision and the fight purse for Povetkin Wilder fight that was frozen will be returned to him and he says that he will go further.

If it is fully true as he claims, the whole situation might get bad for Wilder.

I don’t understand why most on here want him to vacate. I think it will be very advantageous for his career for him to start fighting in other countries. Plus we get a chance to watch the fight earlier here in the UK.

Who gives a toss about the tin-pot WBA strap?

They're a dud organisation. Sure, if they want to recognise Joshua as their champ okay, but don't be dictated to by them. This is the same organisation that has Fres Oquendo as a major player in the division. They're barely a world sanctioning body & are not truly representative of "the world" in a boxing sense.

Joshua has the WBA strap in the trophy cabinet so either they come along for the ride or forget about them.

Joshua should take the fight that best sets up the Deontay Wilder unification match that will inevitably follow.

That isn't Povetkin & it's certainly not Povetkin in Russia.

It's a foolish move to fight Povetkin, imo. I haven't seen Fast Eddie make too many foolish moves with Joshua but this could be one.

Povetkin will be getting a chunk of that just as Wilder would have.
