If prime David Tua was active today where would he be in the HW picture?

Holyfield said that Tua was one of the hardest punchers that he had sparred... but hey, twist the narrative how you see fit Mark.

That's probably true King wouldn't of allowed Tua anywhere near him on any of the other titles, King and Main Events where often at logger heads and working against one another. So yes he probably had little choice than go down this route.

Guys like AJ and Whyte? AJ is far more dynamic than Tua was and beat Whyte.

Fury, AJ, Usyk, Hunter, Joyce would all beat him comfortably.

Wilder is a 50/50, I seem him beating Whyte and Ortiz though.

So, you're telling me that pudding Ruiz was able to clip Joshua multiple times not to mention stop him.
But one of the hardest left hooks in boxing won't hurt him? Make no mistake, Joshua is not good enough ala Lewis to keep a game Tua away. Tua would ice Joshua.

Whyte is tailor-made for prime Tua. You don't think that Tua is better than Povetkin?! :risas3:

Precisely the way I see it. An inconsistent puncher you always hope comes through but usually doesnt.
Stays comfortably in the top 10 but never gets that big win.

...And shame on all those who compared Tua to Dubuois...

That Dubuois is never going anywhere. He would be embarassed by Tua. He doesnt belong in the same discussion as Tua.

    And for the current crop:

    Tua beats:
    Wilder (probably)
Usyk (too small and unproven at HW)
    Whyte
Joyce (I cant believe people are saying this unproven guy could beat Tua... Im not sold yet on him.)
All others most likely. He was inconsistent.

I think AJ is compelling. If AJ can keep him honest with the jab and keep it up, he wins a decision.

Fury whips him and makes it look easy by decision.

Tend to agree with all that, TBI. I actually wish Tua would make a comeback - even in his forties.

Make a quick million and get out. I find his story sad.....

Too small ? Usyk is bigger than Chris Byrd, he's actually bigger than Muhammad Ali. Usyk looks small because he's in an era of people averaging 6'5, 240 pounds. I dont even know why you're mentioning his size anyway, Tua's like 5'10

Compared with Tua, Usyk is small.

Tua looked like a small truck

Usyk would tower over Tua. Tua is obviously more robust but Usyk has the bigger frame

A small heavyweight like Tua can't compete with the giant heavyweight fighters like Fury and AJ.

That was my meaning. Tua is the bigger man to be sure. Usyk is unproven at the elite HW level. That says alot to me.
That being said, Tua was inconsistent at the elite HW level, also Ive always said just because a guy didnt so it doesn't mean he couldn't have...
