Foreman isn't the type of boxer to just panic and react whenever someone feints or uses tricky movement. It's quite clear based on your replies that you've probably only seen the Ali and Lyle fights and you think that's how Foreman fights all the time.

This is Foreman vs Peralta , from the start til 3minutes and 8 seconds is round 1. Peralta tied Foreman 6 times in that opening round , the times he didnt foreman hopped back and hands out to prevent ties up , Peralta would swing and sometimes land left hooks when Foreman did that . Foreman did nothing on the inside during those tie ups. Peralta was less fleet of foot as Johnson too.The times Foreman got to swing on Peralta it was Peralta jabbing at midrange and staying at the range.Y'all keep forgetting Jack ties up after EVERY PUNCH not some but after all his Punches he ends in a clinch.Foreman would get shut out and lose every round.

Pay attention closely to this fight at 24 seconds Ketchel tries to time jack on his way in and note Jack blocks the counter left and right and gets out of range until its time to go in again, and he lands. Look how many times ketchels rear glove was in good position to block a jab only for him to eat the jab .

This is a blow out for Jack Johnson. Film doesn't lie. Foremans not gonna tee off on Jack cuz Jack will be too far away when punching and too close after Jack punches. Foremans only hope would be to time Jack coming in and Johnson will have none of that.

 

You're a cherry picker. Foreman only had 15 fights when he faced Peralta with a very short amateur career. And that was his first time going 10 rounds. He stopped him in the rematch.

Look at this troll using Johnsons fight against Stanley Ketchel as evidence for him beating Foreman.

Ketchel was the size of Marvin Hagler but without his talent. . But skill wouldn't matter. . Foreman strikes down both Hagler and Ketchel savagely within rounds , if not minutes.

Ketchel took Johnson 12 rounds at the end of his career. He connected with punches. . Johnson would obviously meet the same fate Frazier did , albeit much earlier

 

What era is prime Foreman I do not wanna pick fighters out of their peak.

 

I think Jack Johnson had the right style to beat Foreman.

 

Probably from 72 when he beat Gullick to 74 when he lost to Ali. Against Gullick he was getting close to his complete form for his style, the mummy stance, heavy jab, shoving, uppercuts, etc.

He was as green as fresh grass in the first Peralta fight, which he won btw.

 

More talent that Hagler dude . Ketchel was able to move up and beat the premier light heavy of his era .First by decision dropping him 4 times in that fight. Then knocking him out in 3 rounds the second fight . He also beat every decent middleweight in his division he looked bad as a natural middle fighting a heavy. Meanwhile Hagler lost to a natural welter, could not finish a past prime natural lightweight and brawled and beat a natural welterweight . Ketchel would kill Hagler.

Anyhow the point of showing that fight is the technique on display from Johnson, No matter what Ketchels size is . The fact that he put his rear hand to stop and jabs and still ate jabs was a testament to how good Johnson was at landing that jab regardless of opponents size.

It also displays( as does every fight with johnson) his 2 handed feinting and him leaping in after a jab ,Johnson past his prime at 38 also was winning that fight against 6 foot 6 83 inch jesse willard before getting stopped in the 26th round . Probably wins that fight if it was 15 and also proves Johnson style would work on bigger guys not on the smaller guys he fought in his peak. God you are a moron!

 

Foreman II would do better against Johnson because he was more tactical and his jab was stiffer and harder.

That man couldn't be beaten in the wheelhouse , not by Holyfield and certainly not by Jackson. You had to beat him using distance. Any attempt at clinching gives him ample opportunity to land his bone shattering blows.
I think Jack would be hospitalized tbh.

yes he won , I took that fight to analyze foremans style and habits ,nothing more nothing less.

while this foreman fought boxers trying to clinch more(he was still clinched) he ate A LOTTA JABS trying to stick that rear hand out that far pre emptively (without punching) That Jack Johnson jab will land at will especially since Gullick wasnt feinting . Also Foreman so worried about the clinch he didnt sniper Gullick coming in he stepped back and extended his arms to push off (somewhat similiar to the peralta fight but much more successfull against a non feinting Gullick. Foremans chances to hurt Gullick come at mid range ,remember Jack is not fighting from there he will be too far away fishing for an opening and stepping in. Or he is jabbing at the same time as Foreman and hitting foreman who doesnt put that rear hand up to stop jabs at all.

 

Dude Foreman has his rear hand down as well as Ketchel at least Ketchel would lift it up to parry Johnsons jabs . I am convinced Johnson would Jab Foreman at WILL.

I have no issue with the rear arm being down ,Langford kept it down and would either lift it to parry jabs (while jabbing ) or lift it and throw right hands ,it is hard to tell which technique he was gonna do(parry or right hand leads) but foreman didnt lift to parry and was throwing single shots . This will get him killed against Johnson , never mind him being some counter puncher who snipes boxers coming in(even though he steps back and pushes off boxers coming in to clinch and isnt looking for the counter!

 

You guys gotta remember Johnson is jabbing at damn near the same time he is not gonna let foreman throw a jab and high guard . He is gonna lift the rear hand to parry and extend his jab at the same time. Foreman would get hit EVERY TIME he tried to jab with Johnson based on his habits!
